The West Bethel Motel is pitched as a "Smart Motel" which is a fancy way of saying there is no staff on site, check-in is done remotely. They email you your room number and an access code to get in. Unfortunately, we arrived at 3:05 and the email (from Hotels.com) didn't arrive until 3:23. This was annoying, but there may not be a delay if you book directly.
The room was small but very clean, and the exterior and grounds were clean also. The TV was confusing to use and no instructions were provided. The shower was nice and hot and the pressure was fine. The walls were paper thin and we could hear every move from the person next door as well as every vehicle that passed by on Route 2. The fan on the A/C unit was very loud but at least drowned it out. The mattress was uncomfortable and we both woke up with backaches. The pillows were hard and flat. We appreciated the free breakfast which included bagels, coffee, cereal and oatmeal. We also appreciated that we were able to bring our dog with us (which was why we chose this motel.)
Bottom line - too much focus on technology and not enough on basic comforts.
