Don't expect much
Pretty old, but well maintained motel. Big rooms. Small bathroom. Friendly stuff. Sometimes shady guests. But mostly people are nice. I usually stay here when I come to ski at Snowshoe or run some trails or GBRT Marathon.

Pleasant surprise!
We were not expecting much for a motel that has obviously been around for a long time (i.e. old), but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were quiet, the beds were comfortable, and everything was very clean.
The only disappointment was the onsite restaurant has closed.

The motel rooms were very dated and our beds were too firm to get a good nights sleep. Could have been cleaner, I saw crumbs behind the night stand.
Also they placed all the guests in rooms right next to each other and it looked like they could have spaced guests out in the motel to allow for more quiet space.
Staff was not overly helpful but not rude either.
If you are ok with dated rooms , the price was reasonable.

Marlinton Motor Inn was wonderdul
Very good. Very friendly. Helped us find a great place to eat. We were very satisfied with Marlington Motor Inn. Very quiet. Coffee to make for in the next morning Needs a little updating but we did not want to pay $200+ for one night. We only wanted to rest and sleep and not own a room. Would stay again.

If you like nostalgia, this is your place. It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The tongue and groove paneling made it a little dark. Draperies were closed due to glare from the pool. It was a good place to sleep, shower, and close to tourist destinations for a good price.
Good value for the cost. The view from the hotel parking lot is beautiful. Although the property is quite old it is in good condition with a newly renovated bathroom, nice beds and fresh paint. There was a lump in the floor that was distracting. Would happily stay again.

Neighbors two door down we’re drunk and disorderly till two or 3 o’clock in the morning. Whoever was in the room above us sound like a herd of elephants running back-and-forth. Very hard to sleep under those conditions.

Check in clerk was RUDE… but the workers in the lounge were the nicest folks. People we spoke with at the pool also said the clerk at the front desk was rude. The bartender was GREAT!!!

The rooms are a little dated and the A/C could be better but the staff is always great. Non smoking rooms would be a great addition.

Old school rocks
Quiet, old school motel just off the highway. Enjoyed the chairs provided outside the room. Chatted with the motorcyclists who were on a long ride from Chicago.
