I had a room in the Mews, it was delightful and clearly recently refurbished, but there was no direct dial telephone and, on the 10 plus time I tried to call reception (about a 5 to 7 minute walk away) there was no answer.
The room had a pretty terrace, but the doors need to refitted so that there are no gaps and you needs to be able to open them from the outside if unlocked. Also there was no separate window to open for overnight air, so you either had to risk leaving the doors open or rely on the small gap available in the bathroom window.
The shower was lovely, good water pressure, but the hose and rain shower were not plumbed in according to the controls! Meant I got an overhead soak when I thought I was turning on the hand-held shower!
No in-room fridge, only 1 low level drawer for storage, wardrobe full of ironing board! The dreadful coat hangers with fixed plastic holders.
Tea and coffee facilities stored in wardrobe.
Room cards discharged their settings very quickly, I had 3 over the course of my 3 night stay.
Bar food very ordinary and neither well-cooked (over salty soup) nor well presented.
Restaurant food was OK except that I became very sick after my meal, literally within minutes of finishing the main course, which spoilt the remaining 2 days of my stay as I was unable to eat much.
Hotel clearly aimed at couples or groups staying for 1 or 2 nights.
Spa area pleasant and well organised. Unable to try the pool, due to my sickness. Treatments OK but €€€!
