There was only one very small trash can (about 1 gallon). There were 3 of us in a room with two double beds. However, we were only given 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths and no hand towel. The front desk did give us another bath towel and wash cloth when we asked. 3 of the 4 light bulbs above the sink were burnt out making a very dim area to get ready in the morning. There was no maid service so the too small trash can was not emptied and no clean towels left. We were given more towels and wash cloths when we asked.

I stayed in the lodge. The room was in good shape. The bathroom needed an update. A good feature is the water park.

The staff is always accommodating and allows us to check in early year after year. The rooms are in excellent quality. They are very informative at the front desk about events, tours, shuttles, ferries. Always a pleasure to stay there.

Was very dirty, layers of dust behind nightstand when plugging something in. Mold in bathtub around safety bars and around floor near tub. No towels or washcloths in room. Tv did not work in 1st room, so had to be moved.

SUCH a friendly and hard working staff but a tired property in need of repairs. While the room smelled of bleach, the overall cleanliness was not quite up to expectations

No signage to find the “lodge”
This is a ghost hotel sub-brand of a log cabin collection. There’s no signage out front.

For Mackinaw City, it was adequate accommodation. Water park was a big hit with the kids, and being able to walk to the ferry was a definite win. Check in folks were very pleasant and professional. There was a massive hole in the shared driveway than had broken metal sticking up 3 or 4 inches above the pavement which could have caused serious tire damage had the water level been high enough to cover it…which it was. We were lucky enough to have seen the ‘drain of death’ before the rain hit.

Quiet and slept well. A little outdated, but overall clean and a nice place to sleep. Beach access across the street was dirty and not really somewhere we wanted to swim and relax. There was no microwave in the room which made it hard to reheat our leftovers. Overall a nice place and it was cheap. I would stay here again. Also loved that they allowed our dog. And other dogs on the property. We are a dog loving family.

2/10 Poor

We stayed 2 nights and I couldn't wait to leave! Room was dated, old, and filthy dirty. Cobwebs lined the ceiling and door frames. There was an pungent smell in the room reminiscent of cat urine. The room was incredibly damp during the entire stay. On the first morning the water was turned off with no notice - just lost all water during my daughter's bath. Told by management that the water was turned off for a quick repair and when it came back on the water was yellow. I hoped the access to the water park would provide some redemption for our stay. Unfortunately the pool area was full of mold/algae on the windows, ceiling and floors with zero ventilation. After 30 min in the pool area my eyes were burning from the chemicals. Just prior to our departure the last morning, I noticed I was itching and identified multiple red bite marks along my lower back. I was so disappointed and angry with the entire experience - the idea of bed bugs sealed the deal!

Cute property, appropriate for the price.
The rooms were cute and rustic. There were a few maintenance issues that I felt the cleaning crew should have noticed so I just dealt with since it was just me and my boys. The main room light didn't work. It kept flickering. The hot water in the tub didn't shut off. It kept running. (not dripping, running) the knob was stripped. So housekeeping should have noticed had they cleaned the shower. Otherwise, the room was what I expected for the price I paid. It was very comfortable and rustic.

Upon arriving there is no sign for the hotel. It’s now apart of cabins of mackinaw. Both at check in and check out the people were not very friendly, they acted more annoyed than anything. Our door to our room was off so we had to slam it to close it. The bathroom wallpaper was half off and not updated at all. The actual room was decent and pretty cute. TV didn’t work. Won’t be staying there again

We wanted convenience to ferry and affordable. The property was a cozy little village feel. Didn't like that we couldn't stay longer. Would have loved to try the cabins.
