This hotel was a nightmare…from the minute I drove up! For a “hotel” from hotels.com, this was unexpected..we pull up into a wrap-around motel, and as soon as we get out of our vehicle, we were greeted by the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. Walking into the reception lobby, we were greeted by Lysol and pancake syrup. While getting checked in, I was given a code for online access to register my vehicle for the hotel stay, I would later find out that I HAVE to access this to PAY for parking, as part of a ‘valet’ service. While still in check-in, a man walks in to check out, and asks if someone died in the room he’d was staying in, as it smelled horrible. He’d be informed that it was the room they cleaned the carpet but failed to dry it properly. Three other people would approach the desk to complain about a failed air conditioner. Only reason I didn’t walk away was because we’d already booked this hotel and had other plans.
Sleep wasn’t easy, as the deadbolt latch was broken on the hotel room, and there were phone conversations and others all around us, so clearly the walls were paper-thin, and as mentioned earlier, I’d get a call that I HAD to list my vehicle info on a valet website for the lodging, and that there would be a $30+ charge for 24 hours!
