Las Dalias Hippy Market is a homage to Ibiza’s hippy heritage. It is one of the island’s most out-there places to shop and people watch. The sprawling market hosts over 300 alternative lifestyle stalls. Scores of free-spirited shoppers (visitors and locals alike) flock here each weekend – it gets packed during the peak summer season.

The market began on Valentine’s Day in 1995 with a modest ensemble of 5 simple stalls. Subsequent decades have seen its popularity explode. The event has since expanded to include night markets, Christmas markets, and artistic events. Find below the top places to eat, drink, and shop at Las Dalias Hippy Market, Ibiza’s leading counter-culture event.

What are the highlights of the Las Dalias Hippy Market?

The Las Dalias Hippy Market is all about alternative, handcrafted wares. An array of vendors hawk all manner of artisanal goods, from sandalwood sculptures to seashell earrings and exotic Hindu figurines. Music lovers can browse an endless selection of vinyl records, while beachgoers can grab an embroidered hammock or beach fabrics for lazy days on the shore.

Other ubiquitous items include handmade shoes, aromatic incense, eccentric antiques, and floral-print dresses. There’s an impressive selection of artisanal leatherware for fashionistas – some can be tailor-made. Oddball ornaments and alternative artworks add hippy cachet to your home, while homemade liqueurs offer an affordable alternative to those sky-high nightclub drinks.

Take a break from shopping by getting a massage or learning your future from tarot card-toting fortune tellers.

Where to eat at the Las Dalias Hippy Market?

Las Dalias is more than just a spot for retail therapy – the lively market is a top spot for dining in Ibiza, too. Most stalls come and go, but permanent mainstays include the Las Dalias Café, the Garden Restaurant, and Rooftop Bar.

Expect a medley of exotic flavours from around the globe. Arabic gastronomy is particularly prevalent – you’ll find everything from Moroccan meats to herbal teas.

For more familiar flavours, there’s a solid section of food trucks (try wood-fired pizzas) and tapas bars. Chilled out tunes permeate the air during the day as buskers belt out hits for tips.

The Las Dalias Night Market offers a lively atmosphere after sunset in Ibiza. Local and international performers play a variety of genres on the centre stage, from reggae to rumba and flamenco to pop. The music keeps pumping into the early hours during the summer – an onsite club, Akasha, was added in 2021. Namaste is a long-running event that’s become legendary among Ibiza’s alternative crowd.

On Friday evenings in summer, local artists gather to exhibit their works in a subdued open-air space. The Christmas Markets specialises in all sorts of seasonal knickknacks.

Good to know about the Las Dalias Hippy Market

The Las Dalias Hippy Market takes place near the small village of Sant Carles de Peralta in the northeast part of Ibiza. Most attendees arrive by private car from Ibiza Town. The trip takes around 25 minutes one way, and there’s plenty of free onsite parking.

The daytime market runs every Saturday and Sunday throughout the year (the precise time depends on the season). The Night Market kicks off late in the afternoon on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Sundays during summer.

Las Dalias gets busy during the peak season – expect up to 20,000 visitors on any given Saturday in August. Avoid visiting between 11 am and 2 pm if you enjoy some elbow room.
