You can find it in the modern, cube-like extension of the Leineschloss (Lower Saxony Parliament). The sophisticated interior makes for a cosy atmosphere, while the terrace offers views of the Leine River and the Platz der Göttinger Sieben.
Menu highlights at Schorse im Leineschloss include baked sweet potato with mushrooms, miso, and golden cress, and wiener schnitzel (Viennese cutlet) with cold-stirred cranberries and potato salad. Note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays, and only open for lunch on Mondays.

While Plümecke is only open from Wednesdays to Fridays, there’s usually no need to reserve a table. It’s worth getting there close to opening (5 pm) if you want to avoid a wait. The nearest subway station is Lister Platz, which is just over 5 minutes away on foot.

The German and American-style steaks at BLOCK HOUSE Am Kröpcke are to die for, but if you’d prefer not to eat meat, opt for its veggie cheeseburger or pasta vegetale (tagliatelle with crispy pan-fried vegetables and spicy tomato confit). Without a reservation, you may need to wait up to 45 minutes for a table at this lauded steakhouse.

Teestübchen, located in Hannover’s historic Ballhofplatz square, has been a local hotspot since the 1970s. It offers a wide array of delicious homemade cakes, upmarket coffee specialities, and over 40 types of tea. Inside this listed building, you’ll see traditional surroundings with salvaged décor from the 19th century. You can also order delicious wines from selected winegrowers.
Many people visit Teestübchen to enjoy a hot beverage with dessert, though we highly recommend its breakfast and lunch items. Our favourite dishes include gratinated sandwiches, quiches, cinnamon rolls, and almond honey granola with raspberries and yoghurt.
