We arrived at the hotel and were not greeted by any employees or management personnel. After waiting for nearly 10 minutes, a staff person finally arrived and proceeded to show us to a room that was not at all what is advertised on Expedia's website. This person did not ask for ANY identifying information about myself (no proof of identity, no passport, no ID card etc.) and just brought us upstairs. He showed us to the room which was filthy (dirty sheets, unkempt/unwashed floors, doors that would not lock properly), at which time we voiced our desire to cancel the reservation and left the property immediately. As this reservation was booked and pre-paid through Expedia, the hotel did not agree to refund this cancellation. After 3 phone calls with Expedia and numerous attempts to request a refund, the request has been denied again and again (with the hotel claiming we made use of our booking fully, although they have absolutely no proof we were ever checked in). Needless to say, I will ABSOLUTELY NOT be booking through Expedia again. You lost a valued and loyal customer today.
