I have travelled all over the Caribbean, so my expectations are tuned with what tends to be there. This hotel was on the lower side of the spectrum, unfortunately.
The staff was friendly (specially Dania), the breakfast was pretty good and the pool is also nice. The room AC worked very well, and the views were great. Easy & quick checkin, and location convenient to West End area (5-10 minute walk to main area), which meant peace and quiet and hearing the sound of the ocean at night while sleeping - which is awesome. Beds were reasonably comfortable and shower pressure was OK (good flow to wash the sand and salt out)
No major complaints from sleeping area. Zero frills (bed, sheets, some shelving, no hangers but that's fine for a beach location) - not negative, but definitely not a luxury place. The balcony had a great view, a bench, chair and lounger - all of which were pretty destroyed from sun & ocean-air exposure and pretty much unusable other than laying out your stuff to dry) -
Bathroom was the worst part of the room: no ventilation other than the door, faucet was a trickle of water, despite good shower pressure (barely enough to rinse), towels were bad, old and with multiple holes - way past their usable life.
Bar by the pool is expensive ($12 margaritas), which makes the place very empty/lacking of atmosphere.
The overall feeling is a run-down place that either used to be OK long ago (20 years?) or was built with good intentions but never materialized.
