Affordable accommodation on a wonderful island
Let's face it: Emerald Isle is a destination where most accommodations are rented on a weekly basis, so finding something (affordable) for just the weekend is not easy. Salter Path Inn was what we were looking for, so we gave it a try.
The location is excellent, with a private boardwalk to the (wonderful!) beach. WiFi works nicely, our room was equipped with fridge, microwave and TV (which we did not try). The room was quite small, but for two people it was ok. With two queen beds, four people could fit into the room, but it might get very crowded that way. Nice feature where the benches and chairs in front of each unit. Dollar General is right opposite, so very easy shopping for water and stuff. Several restaurants (e.g. Crab Shack) in easy walking distance. One strange thing was that the remote control for the A/C was kept in the reception, so when we wanted to adjust the temperature, we had to ask staff to do it for us.
To summarize: If you are looking for a no-frills accommodation next to one of the best beaches you will ever experience, the Salter Path Inn is right for you.
