Overall experience was mediocre - after booking the hotel we got an automated welcome email from the hotel asking if we want to book the table for the dinner and other special requests; we emailed back the preferred time for the dinner also requested if we can use the swimming pool after arrival. We didn't get any response, but we were pretty sure that they received it and have us in mind. After arrival and checking in we were told that there is no swimming pool in the hotel (they have it only in Cork hotel), also the table wasn't reserved for us. Kids were extremely disappointed regarding the swimming pool and if we would have received the email from them on time advising us that the swimming pool is in the different hotel we would definitely not be choosing Loughrea Hotel and Spa and choosing the one more suitable for the children.
The room was damp and the window was not opening, no balcony, no terrace, no window. All night we had an air conditioner on the lowest temperature and at the highest speed but it didn't make much of a difference, it was still very damp and no fresh air (we love sleeping with a bit of window open for the fresh air, but as the window was not opening we couldn't have that option). Breakfast was very poor, dried eggs, extremely dry black and white pudding, not a good quality sausages and bacon. Would we come back? No, thank you. For the price we've paid there are more luxury and comfortable hotels with tons of activities for the kids.
