We traveled as a group of four...so we took a Family Room. We ordered the room and 100% paid for it much before our visit - June 20 for a stay on December 13. It was a really good deal as we had about 30% discount.
But ....when we came to the hotel in the morning December 13 the receptionist said that our room was re-booked by someone else and that we needed to go to another hotel. She offered St.Barbara Hotel claiming that it was even better (4 stars vs 3 stars of Braavo)....which was absolutely not true - all the booking services rate it as 3*. Another fact of dishonesty from the hotel managers was that they insisted on having sent me an e-mail informing about and appologising for the situation - but I haven't got any letters from Braavo Hotel. And when I asked the receptionist to show me this letter in their "Sent" folder or just tell when exactly the letter was sent to me - she rudely refused.
We had to wait for about 40 minutes in the lounge while 3 receptionists were whispering discussing what to do untill they finally announced that we could stay at the hotel.
They coldly reminded that the check-in time is 3p.m. and we immediately understood that it would be not a minute earlier - and we were absolutely right!!!! Well, we went for a walk around the Old Town and when we came back at 2.45 the reception mananger looked at us, then at her watched and sarcastically said - "The check-in starts at 3!!!"
We stayed for 1 night so the next morning was our departure. We asked the receptionist to call a taxi for us for 9.15. Three of us were in the lounge just near the reception desk waitng for a leave, and one guy was outside waiting for a taxi in front of the main entrance. At 9.20 when no taxi came we asked the receptionist if she had called it she said - "Yes, sure, but your taxi has come and gone without you..." and smiled. The thing was that the taxi doesn't drive to the main entrance but waits at the gate outside the corner. But they didn't tell this to us! (neither when we asked to call a taxi nor when it came) Well....of course they called another taxi but we needed to wait for 10 minutes more and so we hardly managed to be on time for our bus.
What concerns the room itself - it was in general not bad but for some aspects:
- the door lock in the bathroom was broken
- the TV remote control was broken
- there were not enough utensil - 3 spoons, 3 forks and 2 dishes (though the room is for 5 persons)
- there was only 1 key for four of us
