Studio 6 in Carlsbad was, without a doubt, the most unpleasant hotel I’ve ever stayed at. While the location and the layout of the hotel and rooms, along with the amenities, were decent, the cleanliness was absolutely appalling and deserves a negative rating.
Our initial room, 322, had both AC units blasting, but the overwhelming smell of cat urine made it unbearable. We requested a different room and were moved to 218, which seemed better at first. However, as we settled in and looked around, it became increasingly distressing to realize that my family, including my kids, had to sleep in such unsanitary conditions.
The bathroom had ants and even a large spider. The pillowcases had red stains, the mattresses were filthy, and they were covered with numerous water and sweat stains. The couch was visibly dirty, and, to make matters worse, there was an alarming safety issue: the electrical wires connecting two lights were held together with electrical tape, creating a significant hazard for my children.
This was by far the most disgusting and poorly maintained hotel I’ve ever experienced.
