I was disappointed with my stay at Hengshan Garden Hotel. After I checked in, I found out the pool was not in use at all. A staff member told me that the pool was going through renovation and it would stay closed for another two months! There is no information about the pool closure on their website or on Hotels.com. This is cheating!! I booked the hotel for the pool! When I checked in at the reception, I clearly stated that there would be two guests. But I was told they could only give me one breakfast! the reason was that my partner hadn't arrived yet! My friend need to register with them before getting his breakfast. I couldn't get the logic of this. My first night was terrible. One light in my room couldn't be switched off. Although one engineer tried to help, but couldn't fix it! I didn't sleep well. The next day, I asked to swap a room. After waiting for hours, I did get one. But, the new room was a downgrade from my original booking. Surprisingly, there was no apology or sorry whatsoever from the hotel! Guest's sleep obviously doesn't matter at all. I was appalled by the attitude of the reception and the quality of their services. I guess they just don't know how to smile and how to say the word of "sorry" ! During my stay I did find the cleaners are very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is also quite good. It's quiet at night. However, the general stay was not that great.
