The first room they put us in was atrocious. There was gum matted into the carpet, the bathroom sink was clogged, the carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed, and the mattress protecter had stains. To top it off they put us in a room with a bathtub/shower combo when I’d specifically asked for a walk-in shower. To their credit they immediately moved us when I called the front desk to inform them of the poor conditions of this room. And surprise surprise, it was a room with a walk-in shower, which tells me they completely disregarded my request for a room with one. This room was actually clean and the plumbing worked. Would’ve been nice to have a microwave but didn’t need one after all. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t the best but it got the job done. The bed had one of those annoying pillow tops, which made it really soft, so I was concerned I’d wake up with a sore back. Fortunately it was barely firm enough that I only did after the first night. The hotel overall looks old, one of the two elevators was out of order, and it still has this nasty-looking carpet in the rooms. Too cheap for wood flooring, Hilton? Get with the times. The Double Tree Hotel used to be an experience and prestigious. Not anymore. No way I’m staying at another one. To top it off they’re known for giving guests a chocolate chip cookie upon check-in. Well we didn’t get ours that night. Instead we received four disgusting walnut chocolate chip cookies on checkout 3 days later. Walnut…
