Highlights of Årslev Meadow Lake
The natural path around Årslev Meadow Lake is about 5 miles long – a really good distance for a brisk hike around the lake on a sunny afternoon. Along the way, you can snap some pictures of the beautiful surroundings and enjoy the view from one of the bird towers.
If there is an ornithologist somewhere inside you, you can also pack your binoculars and spot the numerous birds and hikers. Or how about waking up to the sunrise over the lake's clear surface to the chirping of the birds? Rent the cosy shelter, with a camp fire place and benches, and spend the night in the middle of the unspoiled nature.

Good to know about Årslev Meadow Lake
If you really want to exercise your legs, you can combine the trip around Årslev Meadow Lake with the path around Brabrand Lake (Brabrandsøen), as the two lakes extend from one another, connected by Aarhus River. This trip is around 13 miles, so make sure to bring a few nutritious snacks and lots of water so you can keep up the pace.
It's easy to get from the centre of Aarhus to Årslev Meadow Lake by car or bus, which will take you there directly. If you want to experience the full trip from the centre, you can follow Aarhus River from the centre of town and continue along the path on the right side of Brabrand Lake and on to Årslev Meadow Lake.
