We were there end of May, start of June and the resort was half empty. We had a very nice bungalow, although it was not too big. The bathroom was the standard we expected, hot water didn't work for us, but be honest, you don't need hot water in Thailand as an European... :-) Food was good, the service was very friendly. I think its better to take a ocean view bungalow or at least a "VIP" bungalow (which we had), because the normal bungalows are always two just beside eachother.
Beach was very nice, you have to watch out because there are a lot of stones in the water at some parts (close to the pier is better). We were there with our 2.5 yo daughter and she liked it very much, because of the ocean and the beach. But, there is not much you can do there, so one week was exactly right for us.
A five minute walk away is another beach, there is a lot more of action. There are also two small shops if you need something.
Overall it was a very nice week at the Grandview Hideaway and I would go there again.
