We left this hotel with mixed feelings: The hotel and our room was stunning, but there was a certain smell coming from the bathroom (plumbing needed) and on closer look it wasn't at luxurious as it looked (e.g. cheap camping tables underneath expensive looking table clothes). Shortly before check-out we received a call reminding us to pay for dinner, which felt like an insult to us (has anybody ever "escaped" with suitcases and whatnot through the stairs and the quite big entrance hall though the locked door?). We made the mistake to have dinner the first night, which was good but not exceptional hence with 80 Euro including a small bottle of wine vastly overpriced in comparison to the 10 - 20 Euro we would pay in restaurants for a similar meal even in Marrakech. Also all other hotels provided at least a small bottle of water in the rooms, which I would have expected in this more luxurious establishment, but disappointingly, we even had to buy the water from the fridge in the room. All in all, management seems to see value the money from guests and not the guests themselves. Luckily, the service staff doesn't follow their example: Our receptionist and contact during our stay was exceptionally friendly and took an honest interest in us, helped us and made us feel welcome in a city that felt a little hostile to us. if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be able to have much good to say. But he was there and his service was highly appreciated. Thank you!
