The Nishitetsu Inn is a 5 minutes walk away from Fushimi subway station and approx. a 15 min walk to either Nagoya station or Otsu Dori shopping street. Around the hotel are many restaurants, coffee shops and bars. The entertainment district with many Japanese clubs is also close by.
The room with 2 single beds was clean and the beds comfortable. The usual amenities are available in the lobby (free). There was no in-room safe but valuables could be put in the hotel safe at no charge. Front-desk staff was friendly.
The room was small - also for Japanese standards. It offered limited space to stow baggage. However, for a short stay, it was allright.
Breakfast buffet was very small. Apart from salads, there was just yoghurt and some small saussages. The main part was a warm sandwich; there is a fixed choice of 3 types. The quality was overall ok. However the buffet lacked simple things like bread and butter, jam, eggs and I would not book it again.
The hotel's checkout time is strictly 10am which is uncommonly early compared to other hotels I stayed in Japan. Late checkout is 1000 Yen per additional hour, up to 2 hours (=12 noon).
While the hotel was overall just allright for a short stay, I would maybe look for a different place next time. My focus would lay on a location closer to the main station, a better breakfast and a slightly larger room.
