Expensive Bar-Sofa-Overnight - near empty hotel
The hotel was 1/3 occupied. I had requested a quiet room.
Mistakes happen: On arrival I received a street corner room - loud. I requested a change. Receptionist Bruno shouted at me!
Reservations tried to help but needed OK from Manager. Manager Adriano, refused a room change in nearly empty hotel. I was exhausted, struggling with 5 hours time difference.
Room loud: Cars, motorcycles, people chatting etc. To sleep a bit, I had to lie down on the bar sofa. Documented, informed hotel.com and requested return costs first night. As yet nothing happened.
Next day the Manager tried not to speak to me. He wanted to turn me out of the hotel because apparently they have no quiet rooms: All rooms to the swimming pool and to the garden are quieter. These seem to be blocked for Brazilians. Managed to get a small but quiet room. I got a bad cold - maybe due to exhaustion ...
By chance I met the Mr.Adriano once again. On asking why he had refused the room change: “we had to ask all that had reserved if they agreed to the room change” - by near empty hotel.
