Compared with other Sofitels I have been in, the Sofitel Sopot did not match the expected level that I'm used to from Sofitel. The whole (interior) design of the hotel is a little bit "strange", inconsistent in itself, outdated and for sure not in line with other Sofitels or the brand itself. And it goes down to many small details like e.g. the elevators: Here the elevator are just like in every other standard hotel. The design of the bathroom had nothing to do with the typical Sofitel color scheme and high-quality materials and gadgets. Even in the Junior suite the bathroom looked just like in every budget hotel. The beds however, were great as always in Sofitels (myBed concept).
Breakfast was fine and offered a lot of choices and many nice small details and offerings.
A 3-course dinner in the evening was also of high quality both in terms of food quality, presentation on the plate and the service around it.
The spa is good standard, but not extraordinaire.
All in all, I tend to say: This is not a Sofitel. It's a nice good hotel, but not a Sofitel.
The location directly at the beach is great and the house itself has a nice "Grand Hotel" flair and the service staff was very friendly. It's a nice place to stay there for a weekend and if you do not expect the typical high-end "Sofitel Experience" you will be not disappointed. It's simply missing the "luxury" feeling to much to be a real Sofitel.
