Holiday Inn Express Durham

This hotel was in the process of going through some much needed renovation I. The lobby (and hopefully dining) area. The lobby almost scared me into forfeiting my money and go to another hotel. Fortunately I checked in and went to my room, which was fine. The dining area, including the food, needs improvement. The food seemed stale and I only felt comfortable getting packaged stuff like yogurt and a banana. I felt more comfortable eating breakfast in my room. Because the room was nice, my overall stay was good.

The woman who checked me in was fabulous!! I came in with a negative sick of driving attitude and left feeling totally positive and welcomed! My room must have just been completely renovated! Best mattress ever! My only regret is not checking to see the type of mattress!

Check in and check out was a breeze, staff was incredibly friendly, hotel and room were clean, quiet room. Was pleasantly surprised at the free breakfast selection! Expected donuts and danishes but they had much more....eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy etc. Uber was fast from this location, it’s right by the highway so super convenient and there are restaurants close by. I was even able to find food to deliver late night. Would def stay here again. It’s Holiday Inn Express so don’t expect the Ritz by any means but def gets the job done! A++

From check in through check out, this was a great experience. Throughout the year I probably average two hotel visits a month and it is rare for me to give a hotel a 10/10 rating, but this visit was definitely deserving. The room/floor where we stayed was freshly renovated, so everything was new. The room was clean and in great shape, it was quiet, and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was the standard hotel fare.

Hotel needs improvement. Didn't get the room I booked online. Construction going on somewhere in the hotel with a lot of banging starting at 8 am. Maid forgot towels in my room. Vending machine didn't work with dollars. Won't go back.

Big room but old. Booked room for 4 but only got 3 towels....it was ok for one nite stay.

We stopped in Durham for a quick visit with family on our way back to Florida. This hotel was perfect for our purposes. It's close to the interstate, has good coffee and decent breakfast and the room was clean and comfy.
