My room was a double booked for a single. Nice size with hardwood floors, very clean, and orderly with a refigerator/minibar. The bathroom was very clean, although the bathtub does need to be replaced. The tiling is old, but is still in very good condition. The room had a balcony with a table on it--very nice to sit on and see the water in the afternoon with coffee or for dinner.
One real disadvantage is that the hotel is not located near the center of town, but there is a bus (534) that runs approximately every hour around five minutes after hour. It is down the street to the right of the hotel. There is a cigarette shop where you can buy tickets (one Euro per trip). To get to the Piazza Duomo, ride to the last stop the Piazza dei Martiri. The Duomo is less than five minutes away on foot. The stops are not announced, so you have to pay attention to where you are. Also, during normal traffic it takes about fifteen minutes to get to the last stop, during rush hour a good thirty to forty-five minutes. If you like to drive, I would recommend renting a car. Parking downtown is difficult, but more reliable than the bus which sometimes comes very late.
Depending on the time of year, mosquitoes can be a problem, if you leave the balcony door open. You can ask at the front dest for a plug-in device to get rid of them. It really works.
