The major problem we had was at check in. We paid for a deluxe upper floor water front room but was given a 7th floor room overlooking the parking garage. We went back down to the front desk to get this mistake fixed and was told there were no more upper floor rooms left. When I showed her my booking confirmation there was, all of the sudden, a room on the 20th floor available. Not a great start.

First, this was addressed to my late husband. He passed away in October, 2025, and my son and I were there to 'celebrate' what would have been my husband's 62nd birthday. Regarding the room, it was clean (except a drawer in the desk which had crumbs and a used napkin). The room however was not well insulated from noises, and too warm. I did request near the elevator, but didn't expect to hear the equipment each time an elevator moved. Nor did I expect to have the interior door between two room bang when the neighbor closed their entry door. The neighbor's drunk rant (over the phone?) at 2:15am wasn't pleasant to overhear either - it was as if he was in the same room with us. Those coming back to their rooms at various times throughout the night (drunk or otherwise), were also not quiet. I know you cannot handle what the guests do, but the rooms should have better insulation. Lastly, the air temp range didn't go down low enough for us to be comfortable. I'd say I only slept a total of about 6 hours over my 2-night stay, which I'd hoped for better. Ear plugs and cooler sleep clothes would be a recommendation to help other travelers plan better.

The Golden Nugget looked great online. However in person it's Dead. It's old and it shows by it's condition and lack of people staying and gambling. The casino floor was dead, the live band all 3 nights I was there were playing to no-one. The restaurants were empty as well. I wanted a beer and could not find a bar and when I thought I had the nice man behind the bar didn't speak English - not one word. I have stayed at the Borgata, Cesars, the Tropicana and will return to one of those on my next visit. There was ZERO customer service.

We stayed for one night. It was expensive as we went to see a cover band and they charged to get into the area where the band was playing. In paying for a room (nearly $300 for one night) should include admission to whatever show they have going on. We also spent money in the casino and for dinner and breakfast. They could have given us “free” entry into the band.
