I booked this hotel for a treat for my partner and I. He had never been to Scotland before, so when I seen this beautiful looking property, I had to book. On arrival, the problems started immediately. There were signs in the car park, saying to pay for parking inside. At the reception, I was told it was £15 PER DAY for parking. There would also be no meals, other than breakfast being served... Breakfast would be an extra £13 EACH. I was also asked for my card details for their records, when I had already fully paid for the stay. We stayed in room 47,which seemed adequate at first. Then I noticed there were dirty marks all over the wall. The bathroom was clean enough, but there was limescale all over the bath faucet. The bed was so uncomfortable, I barely slept, and I got up in agony. Other guests in the hotel were loud, and you could hear everything through the door. At one point, my partner had to get up and further secure the door with a heavy chair, because we thought someone would come in (after reading other reviews of the property, it has been known that staff just enter bedrooms as and when they want to). It got to a point where I was genuinely scared, and I told my partner that I wanted to go home (about 2am). My partner reassured me to try to sleep (because of the upcoming long drive), but at 7am, we packed up quickly and left as fast as we could.
