Very nice place to stay I have stayed twice for work. It’s a very quiet place, well maintained, beds are incredibly comfortable. One of the best part is each unit has an apartment size refrigerator/freezer.

Not a fan of memory foam mattresses, the parking isn't the greatest if its a busy weekend but the worst part is the shower. Lol I felt like I was showering in some small camper. No tub. Just a tiny shower stall. But the A/C was awesome!

We enjoyed our quick one-night stay at Lumber Jills! Super clean, comfy beds/bedding, walkable to main street and had everything we needed. The owner chatted with us upon leaving just to make sure we had a good stay. Appreciated that!

Quaint and clean motor lodge. Recently renovated, well maintained, and powerful AC. Owner was helpful and responsive. Would recommend if needing a spot in the heart of Balsam.

The staff was fantastic assisting us checking in early. The rooms were clean and nicely arranged. Only concern was the shower was a bit on the small side for anyone on the taller side but definitely not a deal breaker would stay again.

This was a great place to stay for one night after a local wedding. The room was clean and everything was there that I needed. I also reached out to the 800 number to call for questions and they were extremely responsive.

I love the location and concept of the motel, but the renovation of this place is cheap. Our bathroom was kind of gross in that it appeared dirty especially in the corners and in the shower. The main room was small but very cute and being able to park right outside the door is a plus. Also, a nice, easy walk into town.

Our stay was comfortable, room was clean. There is no ice machine on site so plan accordingly. There is not an office onsite, plan on Self Check-in only with call support if you have issues with your door code.

Troubles unlocking room door. The manager is remote, but a friend of manager who was staying at the lodge reached out to him who remotely unlocked our door. Room was small, two plastic chairs to sit on besides the bed. Appeared clean. Figured out ac unit. Nice tv.. A few nice decorations on walls Bathroom very small. Shower is approximately 2 1/2’ square. My travel companion who is 6’1” barely fit and couldn’t turn around. The shower liner was stained and dirty. Would have liked information about the town and businesses in room

This hotel was very clean, and the check-in process (keyless) was super easy. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The location in Balsam Lake is perfect for hiking the Ice Age Trail as many trailheads are within 15-20 minutes. We loved the larger refrigerator with freezer, as we were able to bring more food with us for four days of hiking! Although opening the bathroom window did provide some ventilation for taking a shower, it would be nice to install exhaust fans in the bathrooms. Otherwise the window air conditioner was perfectly adequate to keep the room temperature comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back to hike some more!!
