Total disaster
So imagine you’re running the Boston Marathon. You pick up your number at the convention center and head to your accommodation. When you get there, you find that your host, one of these property management companies called Evonify Stays, has never heard of you.
Since you made the booking on Hotels.com, Evonify refers you back to them.
Now, try getting anything other than an AI bot to communicate with you at Hotel.com. Apparently impossible in this instance at least.
My one shout out in this is for Carlo the Filipino sounding guy at Evonify. He got back to me when he could have blown me off. He had contacted Hotels.com and verified the booking. Thank you Carlo.
When we get into the property we find that it hasn’t been cleaned after the last (very messy) guests had left. More waiting while Carlo again finds us an alternative place.
The new place is a pretty run down hotel right next to a charming homeless shelter. But, hey it’s very close to the marathon so that’s a win since it’s now after 9 and. We haven’t eaten or figured out parking and I have to get up early for the marathon.
So, yeah. Not a great experience.
