The property is well situated about half way if doing the Douro drive loop. Grounds are lovely with rooms overlooking vineyards - very serene and quiet. Lots of onsite parking. Staff encourage picking and eating fruit off the trees - the oranges are excellent! There is a nice pool area.
At check in staff member was very helpful suggesting points of interest, restaurants, etc.
The room and washroom was very dated with a large veranda. There was mold on the ceiling in the washroom. The bed was horrible, it creaked and the mattress was very uncomfortable. The pillows were old and flat. Unfortunately we did not get a restful sleep.
Breakfast was good - typical continental with lots of homemade goods.
