The receptionist was friendly and welcoming. The reception was under construction, but despite the hole in the ceiling, the space gave a positive impression. I requested a quiet room, but unfortunately was told that the hotel was fully booked and it wasn’t possible to have any other room than ours on the second floor facing 2nd avenue. Despite complementary ear plugs and a noise canceling machine, we barely slept due to the traffic noise and lights. Additionally, the bed mattress was directly against the full window, so when we took a short rest in the afternoon, it felt very exposed.
The room was small, but clean and modern. We appreciated the 2 bottles of water in the fridge and also the cold drinks on the unique rooftop. Although we loved the opportunity to relax on the roof, a nonalcoholic beverage option was missed.
It was a disappointment that we couldn’t borrow a umbrella for a few hours and the continental breakfast looked delicious, but had no gluten-free options.
Overall, we left the hotel tired and were glad that we only booked one night.
