All you can imagine - and more!

We decided to go to ToB based on the "Reluctant Traveller" show, and we expected it to be fun and worth staying there. We were pleasantly surprised with how much better everything was than we even imagined it would be. Big Sam, the entire staff, and Lisa (our guide/driver) were all so friendly and helpful. Once in a life time experience

This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed; an amazing location in beautiful Skukuza, the quirkiest stunning train/bridge hotel and the extraordinary staff! Rooms are extremely spacious and beautifully decorated, the views from the room and the pool deck is breathtaking. It’s the most beautiful feeling watching animals from above, enjoying the river running under the train bridge. The staff is maybe the friendliest and the most hardworking hotel staff I’ve experienced. Tinashe, Happy, Angie and many more .. they make you feel so welcomed, almost like a family! On top of all, what makes it even more special is the Kruger NP game drives. My husband and I both feel extremely lucky to have met the amazing Victor, who is a very special and extraordinary game guide. I have done a lot safaris around the world but never met a guide like him. He is full of love for animals (and BIRDS!), he gets so excited seeing them, tracking them, as if this is not what he sees everyday. His level of knowledge about all animals, their behaviours, patterns, from the biggest to the rarest animal, the surrounding fauna.. it is just like going on documentary drives. Unbelievable! Till I met him, I didn’t know much about birds. When I said that to him, he went and printed me a copy of an extensive bird checklist as a surprise for our next drive and we tracked them together the rest of our drives.Thank you so much Victor for everything you did for us, we couldn’t ask for a better experience

Amazing hotel. Wonderful location and a really chic room. The staff was amazing and the service was very individualized. We had a private tour everyday with the same guide who was an expert and very informed. The other staff was absolutely lovely and anticipated every need. Get a massage! Lie by the pool. Blown away by the view, the service, the staff and the food. Waking up to a view of the Kruger is incredible. In top of that, the staff go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy every element. The game drives are really well arranged and a huge amount was seen. This place is a cut above the rest but a warning - it will ruin everywhere else for you, it feels so special!

30 th Wedding anniversary celebration

This trip was amazing and had it not been already it would now certainly be on our bucket list. From the moment we arrived the accommodation and the staff were perfect and everyone couldn’t have done anything more to ensure that we had a fantastic time. We honestly couldn’t find fault with anything. We feel that we need to make mention of our safari tour driver guide Thuli, her knowledge of all the animals and surroundings was really impressive and she ensured that we got to see all the big 5 and so much more. From pick up at the airport through to check out we could not fault one moment! We had an incredible time. The staff were so knowledgeable and friendly, genuinely caring and went above and beyond to ensure you felt looked after. Our dining hosts Mzwandile and Angel were a delight and our Safari guide Mikhenso was extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and has an eagle eye in the bush! We were lucky to see 3 leopard sightings in 3 days and tick off 4 of the big 5. We would absolutely recommend Kruger Shalati and will be returning.

One of our best trips ever. Staff is beyond accommodating. Went with a group of 5. Each morning and afternoon game drives are scheduled. Shout out to our guide Nelly!! He's beyond knowledgeable and knows all the patterns of the 'big 5'. He will also stop and explain fun facts about the animals, their patterns, etc. Most certainly the highlight of our trip. The property is beautiful and we saw elephants, hippos, giraffes, and crocs from our train. Service is top notch. The team remembers your preferences and the food was simply amazing. Can't say enough good things about this resort.

Beautiful, we drove in and drove out, which was a great experience. make sure you book the right airport and you won’t have to drive your own car although we loved driving around ourselves in addition to the wonderful game drives. The staff and the Safari drivers were the best. The garden rooms were lovely and we saw many animals and baby hippo, newly born from the view on the train track
