Comfortable
Very clean and extremely comfortable beds. Staff is very friendly and they want you to enjoy your stay. The hotel is a bit isolated from Baton Rouge as its located on the west side of a major river that flows thru Baton Rouge. There are lots of other hotels in the area and I suggest they collectively bring a restaurant into the area.

Check in needs work.
After making my reservation, i received a text yo check in which took 8 minutes to complete. When I arrived at the hotel, I still had to check in. Seems like a waste of time to check in online if you have to still go through the process at the hotel.

It was a good overnight stay; comfortable bed, nightstands with outlets, nice shower, plenty of towels, refrigerator and microwave in room, decent breakfast. They have guest laundry available. Handy to Rte 10.

No way it deserves a 9.2!
Confused how this place has a 9.2 rating. The bathroom smelled of urine and mildew growing in shower. Basically entire room was filthy. Staff did change our room but the second was exactly the same. I wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me.

Underwhelmed
This is a newer property so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. After a long check-in process (no check in prior to arrival option and required hard copy paperwork) and an unprofessional response about a pet fee—he would not honor the posted rate on the website and basically told me I was wrong. I went to the room and my feet stuck to the floor in the entry way and in the bathroom. The bathroom had some mold and something dripping down the wall that was not cleaned properly. No, I did not complain because I was exhausted from driving 11+ hours and didn’t want to wait another 25 minutes to talk to the front desk person. While it’s a newer hotel, you could hear people running up and down the hall above. Breakfast on weekends doesn’t start until 7, so not ideal for those wanting to get an early start. Very underwhelming experience.

NICE QUAINT BEAUTIFUL PLACE
This was a very nice place. Staff was very welcoming. This was the first time I have actually staued at a hotel with my ESA dog and I have to say its was a very seamless process. I appreciate the professionalism of the staff with regards to my fur baby. If i am in this area again I for sure would stay here!!!

I really enjoyed my time here, everything very clean and seemed pretty new. The staff was very accommodating and it worked out that they let me check in a little earlier than I expected. There was some fast food places a short walk away, but it would be great if there were other food/drink places nearby. Plenty within a short drive though.

The property gave an outside appearance of new. However, after staying in room 109 for 3 days and 2 nights we will never choose Laquinta again. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink the entire stay. And the shower gave warm water night 1 but the next morning and remainder of the stay the water was freezing cold. There was a white foamy liquid that slow dropped from the roof to the room floor. Ew would not recommend

Only stay if it’s the last place on earth
Admittedly, I should have been suspicious that this hotel was in Port Allen, which is more of a Truckers Paradise, than a place you’d want to bring your kids. When I pulled into the lot and saw all of the trucks parked there, I immediately wished we had booked in Baton Rouge proper. I did ask the front desk if people stayed there from LSU all of the time, and he said yes, but during our short stay saw no one. Just tons of … men. As a woman with two young daughters, I would just caution you to think twice about booking this location. The hotel itself was fine. La Quintas design overhaul is very cute, but there was an underlying seediness to the hotel. It felt more “motel” than anything. Breakfast was ok. Eggs seemed like there were powdered, and the sausage from Sunday was used on Monday which you could tell. But the thing that got me - in the night I turned over a pillow that was in my way and in the faint light could see - something - not sure what, on it. When I woke up in the morning I saw was turned out to be a disgusting booger caked into the pillow case. I nearly threw up because I know for a fact it wasn’t mine or my kids. I also dropped something behind the night table and needed to move it. There was not only a ton of dust behind it, but also used floss picks. Disgusting. I guess we got what we paid for, but then again, this stay wasn’t cheap! Do yourself a favor and only book this place out of absolute necessity.

Go To for the La. Book Festival (and other stuff)
My wife and I always stay here, even if our business is in Baton Rouge. We go to the Louisiana Book Festival every year since it started in 2002. Love this place, clean, roomy, decent breakfast if we want, bed could be firmer but that's okay. All staff we have met is friendly.

Loved everything! Esp. the microwave & fridge in room. The coffee maker in room wasnt for tea unfortunately, but I was able to heat water in the microwave. I only wish there was a safe in the room & the water pressure was kinda low for the sink & shower. Also we didnt get a housekeeper, someone came by to pick-up towels only. I was able to get more towels from front desk, but a housekepper would have been better.
