4/10 Fair

Awful
I cannot understand how The Sheepy is rated so highly on this site. The sink is stained and the shower head has that much scale, only half of them let water out. The kettle desperately needs a descaling too. The carpets are in desperate need of a clean. The mattress is old, tired and lumpy. No servicing of the room or fresh towels for a 3 night stay. Breakfast was fruit, cereal and a pot of yogurt left in the fridge each day. Located in the middle of nowhere, where you have to drive down awful country lanes to get there.

6/10 Good

Beautiful rooms and cool pub. Needs good cleaning
It was a real mix bag. The room was amazing and the balcony and view quite wonderful. However once settled in we noticed the room was quite dirty. Hair and product all over the shower wall. Cobwebs in every corner and marks on the bed frame that could have been wiped off. Also a little disappointed to be told no actual breakfast served as no staff to work in the pub at that time so just cereals and yogurt provided.

A long weekend on the Somerset Levels
A very good location for exploring the Avalon Marshes. A cosy, welcoming country Inn which serves really interesting and tasty dishes.

We had a lovely time staying here. The room was large and comfortable. It was too cold to use the balcony but we enjoyed the view. The fresh berries, yogurt and granola made a tasty breakfast.

8/10 Very Good

The Sheppey Inn is quirky and I should imagine that when it first opened it was quite novel. However, now it is looking a bit tired, the stairs carpet need a good clean, I do understand that it is a walking area but the first 4-5 steps are grubby. The room could also use a deep clean, for example the TV screen was smeary, vase was dusty/dirty and the cotton wool container was the same. The breakfast was a bit lacklustre and definitely not continental, couple of boxed mueslis, yoghurt and fruit (banana and apple's). If a breakfast can't be served then maybe offer some pastries. The room could also do with a few items to make it a bit easier to stay, hooks for coats, and towels in the bathroom. Chest of drawers for pants / socks etc. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the balcony was lovely in the morning. The surrounding countryside beautiful.

Lovely pub with excellent food.
Lovely place, great pub with interesting menu. The room was great, clean very easy to check in etc. Very cool place. Would stay again. Only issues: 1 parking is limited / on the road. 2 We had a balcony room. This was great in the morning but it’s directly above the pub decking - not particularly private, and so you get smoke and noise until the pub shuts. Next time I wouldn’t bother with paying extra for this.

Fab venue. I give 5* to the kitchen they served up a fabulous dinner. I am still raving about it. If someone asks me for a recommendation to stay when visiting Glastonbury then it has to be The Sheppey. I'm going back when the live music starts up. This place rocks!

Fantastic stay!
Absolutely loved every moment of our stay at The Sheppey - room was fabulous. Loved the drinks server on the balcony - such a novel touch! The views across the garden were fantastic and the room was clean, spacious and bed very comfortable! Loved the large shower as well and the quirky decor. The food in the restaurant was really tasty and a really good, unique selection of dishes. The manager was great as well, very attentive, friendly and chatty. Literally can’t fault it. Thank you so much!
