Great place to stay in a beautiful setting. Large ground floor rooms with direct access onto the picnic area. Landlord was welcoming and efficient. Food was great but as almost everywhere these days was pricey. Large Yorkshire breakfast was great value. Thanks to the team at the Black Swan, 👍👏

I booked a twin room which was clean and a good size. The mattress on my bed was very uncomfortable so I swoped it with the pull out bed underneath our bed. The mattress was smaller than the original mattress and was too small for the base but it was very comfortable, a good mattress. I didn’t mention this to the staff at the hotel. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work efficiently but otherwise excellent. The meals were very good and delicious.

We wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Do not book this room for 3 people. Apparently, according to the property and Hotels.com, you can sleep 2 adults and 1 child (up to the age of 17) in a king size bed!! The manager was rude and unhelpful, however the members of staff that checked us in was lovely. The floor of the room was filthy, with clumps of hair and dust in the corners. There also looked like something had been spilt on the floor and not cleaned properly. We cannot speak to the food as we didn’t eat in the restaurant but the meals we saw looked decent.

Plenty of parking next to hotel room. In my case I could see my motorcycle from the hotel window. Large well appointed clean room with excellent en suite. Lovely views over surrounding hills. Cozy pub with real fire. Good full English breakfast and friendly staff. All good thanks and would stay again.

Fabulous recent 2 nights stay at the Black Swan Inn . Food was excellent and the staff were friendly and very efficient . Our room was a lovely large space and a very big king sized bed which was extremely comfortable . We will definitely return .

Great place to stay

Great pub in a lovely location with fantastic views from the garden. The rooms were very large, as were the beds (which were really comfy). The room had everything you’d need. The staff were great and friendly, and helped out getting a taxi. The food at the pub is great, and the beer is kept exceptionally well. A great place to stay and only a 2 mile walk into Masham. The owners old WW2 vehicles in the car park are very interesting too.

Very helpful after my booking error

I booked the wednesday to thursday but unfortunately the wrong week, after i explained the staff were exemplary and agreed to change my booking at the last minute. The room was clean warm and tidy and the food was really good. No complaints at all and will stay again.

Had a really good stay at The Black Swan Inn. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the pub served great food and drinks. I arrived late and the staff were helpful upon check in. In my room however I could not find the tv remote anywhere, the bed was uncomfortable and the floor was gritty like it hasn’t been hoovered. I could clearly hear people in other rooms and periodically something which sounded like a fan switching on. The final straw was blood splatters on the bathroom mirror.

A great inn, in a good location. Staff were very friendly and the evening meal was excellent. The room was really nice with plenty of space, warm, clean and well equipped. Some noise carried through from other rooms but this wasn’t too much of a problem for our stay. Breakfast was ok but the full English breakfast fell a bit short of expectations. Overall would definitely recommend to stay at the Black Swan.
