8/10 Very Good

Beware the separate "resort fee"
The hotel itself was good -- clean, new, convenient, great view of the Gulf. What I DIDN'T like was the deceptive pricing known as a separate "resort fee" paid upon check-in. I booked and prepaid the hotel stay just as I usually do at other hotels. That way, when I arrive at a hotel, I just sign and get the key. Not at the Hyatt. I had to pay a $25 per day "resort fee" and leave a $50 "incidentals" deposit. I'll get the deposit back in a week, but not the "resort fee." It's just a deceptive way to jack up the price. Ironically, if they had been honest about the true price of the hotel when I booked it, I would have gladly paid it up front, but their charging a separate fee at check-in means they will never see me again. I don't like to be tricked and made a fool. Other negatives: no microwave or refrigerator, the parking is in a garage across a busy street, breakfast only from 7am. Compare this with the Sleep Inn I usually stay at: a microwave, a refrigerator, on-site parking, breakfast at 6am and double the TV channels -- all with NO "resort fee."
