Hidden treasure
We‘ve stayed for two nights at Palazzo Roselli Cecconi in Room 1 and it was very nice.
The Palazzo is decorated with lots of love and an eye for details. It’s like staying in a small museum of Florentine History. All starts in the beautiful yard and with the scent of expensive perfume of the Aqua Flor Shop in the street.
The rooms are very clean, but the toilet seat was old and lost its painting like an old wall.
All is equipped with high quality furniture and linings. Though the Air condition is far too noisy. We have opened the window at night which made the Air condition stop (That was totally ok as we had super nice whether, but made mosquitoes attacking us the whole night).
Breakfast the next morning is also ok. Nothing special and not worth the room prices. If something is empty it’s not been refilled (e.g. the cold scrambled egg or the tiny portion of pecorino cheese). The cappuccino and espresso is also ok but far away from legendary Italian reputation and the ones you get in the small coffee shops around. We have had our first breakfast outside on the cute roof terrace but decided immediately to stay inside for the next morning as the terrace and your food is unfortunately attacked by pigeons constantly and you see (and feel) the dirt they are bringing over the months.
The Palazzo is indeed perfectly located in this tiny side street and around the corner of Santa Croce. Very nice restaurants and bars are around and any main attraction can be reached by foot
