First and foremost the owner/staff of this unique Bed & Breakfast is what makes the place inviting and enjoyable above all other things. Both kind and hospitable, we felt very welcome. There was also a wonderful breakfast of home-made egg casserole and delicious baked goods as well as coffee, juice and many other choices as well. The property/accommodations themselves may not be for everyone, as it is wonderfully not "typical" at all. The history of the victorian-esque building, as well the history of the various owners who have been its proprietors are evident throughout, particularly in the far-less-than-sparse decorations. Although it can be considered to be the "charm" of the place, it also feels over-done. Point in case: not just one, or two, but four different pairs of angelic cherubs adorning the walls of the room we had (as an example), along with a great many other mismatched decorations making the room look more 'busy' to the eye than inviting. Again; it is a decorative 'charm' that it tries to instill, but I'd much rather enjoy a more comfortable bed without a ruffled chintzy bedspread that feels less sanitary than the clean lines of less decorative linens. Our room, room 5, had an enormous bathroom with two claw-footed bathtubs. The bathroom was perhaps the nicest part of our accommodation (although again; too much decoration, despite how nice the fixtures and hardwood floor, etc.). Go for the hospitality and the one-of-a-kind stay that it is.

A very quaint, comfortable and friendly place.

Paid $300 to stay overnight at an 1800's boarding house. A dirty, bag your own groceries and clean your own room kind of boarding house. Places like this give other tourist B&B"s and Hotel's a bad name.
Familienurlaub (2 Nächte), 17. Juni. 2021
Great atmosphere, 130 years old building, yet nicely kept, family style breakfast, very friendly staff
Romantikurlaub (1 Nacht), 11. Juni. 2021
Atmospheric lodging with antiques. But with 21st tv and A/C ( needed during a heat wave.) Garry was attentive to our needs. Breakfast was OK but could have had more variety and fresher muffins. Would return.

Familienurlaub (1 Nacht), 12. Feb.. 2021
Facility was "cute" but a little shabby. All contact (which was minimal) was with high school daughter. No services at all during our stay. Had to ask for cups/glasses to use for brushing teeth, etc.

We were checked in by a twelve year old who couldn't find our reservation and when she did locate it, couldn't tell if we had paid. The hotel needed vacuuming and dusting. It was cluttered. Even though it is a B and B and Expedia said breakfast and an evening reception was included, this was not the case. Other hotels in the area had breakfast and dinner, so I believe this place used Covid as an excuse for laziness. No bottled water could be found on the premises. No one was available to check us out. The room was $150 a night and while nice room, there was no hot water for shower. It was tepid at best. Very disappointing!

Our TV was broken, There was NO hot water at all for a shower, the bathroom was disgusting. The previous guests used hairy soap was still in the shower. The was no one at the front desk to call about the issue or phone in the room to contact anyone. No breakfast at all even though it clearly states Bed and Breakfast. Will Never return or refer!

We first went to the Palm Hotel and I stood outside for like 10 or 15 minutes and nobody came to the door I called the number on the door two times and the guy said give me a few minutes and on the second phone call he said the lady should be showing up in like five minutes later she came up in a car and was showing me around afterwards and she show me a room that I did not select she said I can have that room or I can go to the sister hotel in Sonora which is bigger room and she would give it to me for the same price so we went over to Sonora at the gun House Hotel and then we decided just to stay there so we’re not going back and forth the room was pretty good and clean just kind of a weird experience especially waiting for somebody to open the door after 15 minutes of standing there although I do recommend both places especially the palm hotel since It’s a Victorian setting and very nice I will stay there myself next time just a weird experience
