The snorkeling at the resort is not good at all (don't believe the staff when they tell you to snorkel out front to the wharf or down at the point at the south end of Blue Lagoon Beach), so you have to spend money to go better places but it's only $30 fjd for a guided snorkel outing, you don't have to go far, just across the channel. Other resorts have good snorkeling off their beaches (see Naqalia resort). I heard that Barefoot Manta is the best, Blue Lagoon beach resort has good snorkeling too but when we were there they couldn't snorkel due to high winds. Staff are fantastic, someone sings and plays guitar every night during dinner (plus a welcome song and goodbye song and morning song every morning!). Food is great and had large portions. The views from the treetop bures are fantastic! They don't have air-conditioning but have a strong fan and that was good enough while we were there.
In summary, I would stay here again because it's so lovely and staff are so good, but I would organize a snorkeling trip every day.
