The Manor Amsterdam

Wir haben selbst mehrere Jahre in Amsterdam Oost gelebt und kamen nun anlässlich einer Feier zurück. Schon während unserer Zeit in Amsterdam, wollten wir immer mal im Manor schlafen. Das Hotel is exzellent gelegen, direkt am Oosterpark, in direkter Nähe zum Tropenmuseum. Die typischen Touristen hot-spots sind sehr einfach innerhalb kürzester Zeit mit dem Rad oder den öffentlichen erreichbar. Die Zimmer waren sauber und groß genug. Der Service am Empfang war klasse, nur die Zimmermädchen waren ziemlich grumpy. Das Essen im Restaurant des Manor (Enoteca) ist wunderbar, auch als Locals gingen wir hier öfters essen. Das Frühstück war auch toll. Wer sich in Amsterdam auskennt, sollte aber lieber die Tolle Frühstückskultur in den etlichen kleinen Cafés genießen.

Netter Empfang, Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich, das Tram ist ganz in der Nähe, ca. 20 min bis zum Bahnhof Amsterdam (direktes Tram). Frühstück könnte besser sein, es war vieles leer in den Behältern, Schinken und Lachs waren warm.

A comfortable and clean place, great value for money.

The hotel is an old hospital that was built in the late 19th century And I must give credit to the person who has redesigned the rooms as it’s been very well done. The rooms are small but built in such way that you get the most out of it which was sufficient for me who was traveling alone. The rooms have high ceilings which already creates space but also the deco and lighting are designed for that plus I was lucky to have a room with a small balcony. I was traveling light but know that there is absolutely no space to put your suitcase. Not so practical when you’re a couple on a longer trip. Bathroom is small but practical and body wash and shampoo is from 1 large dispenser (a bit basic but better for the environment). Room has a coffeemaker and tea which is NOT mentioned here. I chose for a room On the street side and frankly, that was great, No crazy noise of traffic. Another big plus is that these blackout curtains are really blackout out curtains unlike in most 4 or 5 stars who advertise that. The staff is absolutely fabulous. They are super friendly and very helpful. There was a handwritten welcome note in the room with a small bottle of water and delicious dutch “stroop wafels”. That’s a nice touch ! All in all, I loved my small but greatly designed and decorated room.

The rooms are all different but same category. I requested balconies before our arrival and not any of our 4 rooms were the same or had balconies. Quite far from the centre - I would not recommend the hotel.
