Sognando Firenze

A little out of the way. About a 25 minute walk to main tourist area although on a bus line and right next to a taxi stand . But it seemed difficult to get a bus home at night (from train station which was about a 45 minute walk). After 12 hour excursions that was too long a walk especially later at night. When you walk into building on main floor there’s always a bad smell (similar to a dead animal). No lift 2sets of stairs to climb with luggage Very old building. Looks tired. Could use a lot of updating. Very small shower and bathroom. No place to put your stuff in bathroom. 2 small drawers for clothing and closet to hang a few things. Breakfast didn’t start till 8 am which didn’t work for us as we had to be at excursions before 8 am however Neil the manager was very kind and accommodating. He put breakfast food in our room the night before so we could make sandwiches and fruit. He was very kind and helpful but I just didn’t like this place. Dark, needs a lot of updating and too far out of the way. Neil was a lovely man very accommodating

Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was perfect (warm rolls right out of the oven). The location is away from the hustle and bustle of the center of Florence but an easy 20 minute walk to Ponte Vechio or the Uffizi. The nearby Gattabuia ristorante pizzeria serves a great meal.

The hotel was conveniently located near bus stops and the plaza de Michelangelo. Breakfast was kindly prepared every morning and staff provided recommendations about the city!

We had a wonderful time at sognando Firenze. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were amazing and very helpful. It was about a half hour walk to all main attractions of Florence. Highly recommend!
