The location of the hotel is perfect and the staff amazing. Food is also delicious. The only downside with the room, is that there were no curtains only blinds, so as soon as the sun comes up sleeping becomes difficult. Fine for anyone who's an early riser but not for those who like a lay in. Also the shower is electric with very poor flow rate. Would stay again if these issues were resolved

I feel there are tion to detail is lacking the bedding and towels were clean however the paint work was mucky the bathroom was shocking radiator dirty shower top dirty screen dirty and omg the shower trap I feel all the paint work needs waahing too

Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were good and all amenities you would expect. We stopped overnight on a hike and was a great place to stay, good selection of beers. Breakfast was good and very well priced. Would certainly stay here again.

Excellent staff. Room clean but small.

Parking was easy, unsure about car park security but location seemed very safe. Staff were excellent. Access to guest rooms was a little hazardous probably due to the fact it is a very old building. The bedroom was very clean if rather small. The bar/dining area was okay if a little dated. The food menu provided on site didn’t match the online version! The George is okay for a short stay.

Check in was easy. Room lovely great new bathroom nice tiles bed comfortable. Breakfast was extra at £6.75 but worth it. New landlords have done a great job updating the George, looking forward to our next visit. Great centre location exploring Kinder Scout and Twenty Trees.

We loved our stay at the George. Jos and Lindsay are lovely and run a very nice business. We had two rooms, wife and I and Daughter and Partner. We arrived soaking wet after a walk on Mam Tor. Checked in, had a laugh with the owners, parking was easy, rooms are excellent and clean, food good, beers good. Being born and raised in Derbyshire and an out doors person who spent years in the peaks before heading to that ‘great land down under’, I had somehow missed Hayfield. Lovely village and we enjoyed a clear day hiking after the rain, onto the moors straight from Hayfield. A great stay at the George was enjoyed and thanks Jos and Lindsay for your guidance on where to go.

Parking was easy, staff were very friendly! Only issue was, it seems like the radiator doesn’t work in room 1? It was quite cold all night. Bed mattress could be more comfortable too. It was a lovely place though and very cute town.

Lovely ancient pub in this Pennine village. Staff could not have been more helpful. Property in good condition (the sloping floors are just a mark of the age). Food standard pub fare, but well presented.

Lovely room, with a very nice bathroom. The hotel was well located within a 2 min walk from the centre of town which made an evening walk around the old sights very enjoyable. The parking was off site but very close by. The restaurant and bar were very nice. An open area for making the home made pizza was lovely and the breakfast was also very nice. The morning staff that served us at breakfast were very friendly and helpful even making a special sausage for our dog as a treat ! Highly recommended and great value for money !

Wonderful and relaxing stay at The George Hayfield. We had the family room which was clean and comfortable for a Mum, Dad and x2 teenage girls. Evening meal and breakfast was perfect, good value for money. The two owners (and staff) very friendly and attentive. We’ll be back for sure.
