Gorgeous, old fashioned charm, fabulous location and wonderful staff!
A beautiful hotel in the Médina near the port. Our room was lovely and clean, a comfy bed with good pillows. We even had our own little sitting area outside. The only downside was we had a few external windows and the morning call woke us up early each day. The breakfast was delicious and more than enough food, they would cook your eggs to order. We loved our time here.
I stayed here 20 years ago and was so pleased to see that the style of the hotel had not changed at all. It is a relaxing and calm place to stay. The food is excellent and the friendly staff are very helpful. The bar area was a great place to meet other guests before dinner.
Villa Maroc is a beautiful hotel in the Medina of Essaouira, next to the port, with a stunning view from its terrace. The rooms are beautifully and individually decorated, as are the commons areas. Service is impeccable and the food delicious. Definitety recommended!
Perfect location inside the Médina, yet with amazing views over the port, plaza and beach. The conversion of several riads into a beautiful hotel provides an authentic Moroccan experience yet with superb comfort and convenience. The rooftop breakfast is very special, as are the fireside dinners, each dining group cozily placed beside their own real fire. It was a special experience being here in early spring when we could enjoy warm sun-filled days walking the beach, Médina walls and Souks, yet have warm candlelit dinners in the cool evenings. The Moroccan/Swiss owners do a fantastic job mixing the best of their cultures to provide such a tranquil and homely environment. We definitely hope to return one day.
I booked the Family Suite for 4 people which is so big that it could pass for a house. Sitting room downstairs with a fireplace and one toilet. Walking upstairs from the middle on to two opposite sides. One double bed on one side open like a studio flat with only a curtain to block the view from the opposite side where there is a room with a door and two twin beds inside. The twin beds are not narrow but a bit 'short' for adults. Nevertheless the lighting in this room is bright and pleasant. We stayed here for one night and I got lost every time I left the room. I know I do not have a good sense of direction but I literally had to ask for direction to the reception. This hotel is made up by two connecting riads so there are many walking up and down as well as turning left and right. This riad is beautiful and the staff is nice. Upon my request the lady at the reception arranged a log fire to keep the room warm for us while we went out for dinner. Water hot enough and pressure strong. To be fair we only stayed here for one night we did not have enough time to get familiar with the hotel.
Elegant converted Riad in a perfect spot to explore the Medina. Wonderful views from the roof terraces where you take breakfast. Staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful
What a wonderful place. A traditional Riad, well four Riads actually combined to make one big one, with amazing decor, a haven of peace in the busy Medina, and an amazing rooftop terrace where we had a DELICIOUS breakfast every morning, Traditional Morroccan fare, with eggs to order if desired. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the decor was lovely, a really great stay. Cool indoors which was not unwelcome as it was hot outside.
Their website is very misleading, we booked through Expedia and when clicking on the hotel details it said ‘free breakfast’ when we arrived the receptionist told us we had free breakfast and times etc, some time later she came to tell we did not have free breakfast, the next day we had emailed the details which clearly stated free breakfast, we went to reception to sort it out, but were made to feel very embarrassed in front of other guests being told no breakfast, they even admitted they sometimes made errors on their website, not our concern, they should have honoured it. Also although I know it does not say they have a pool, but on their website there is a picture of one, so my error, but misleading, but of course you can go to their other hotel that does actually have a pool and it’s only £25 per person, wow, oh but it does include lunch. The riad itself is very lovely, although our room no. 14, was very dark and damp, so be aware and sometimes there’s was a slightly sewerage smell in the bathroom
Very authentic experience Hotel is very well located.
