Excellent hotel and location. We were upgraded to a bigger suite.
The suite was tired and furniture damaged.we had arrived in from Europe and were jet lagged on the first night . There was a failed fan blade in the heating system that had an interference fit. It stopped rubbing at some point in the night and was not present the next morning but it was an issue on the first night . Second night all went well with the fan until 4 am when it started to rub again . I would mention I had turned the heating system off so the blade that was an issue I had no control over. I complained to management that morning and they did take care of it. We had dinner in the room the first night I chose a bottle of wine that was priced at 275 dollars . When I got the bill they had added 20 percent to the wine charge in addition to the food. The bottle of wine chosen had a retail value of 75 dollars and adding 200 dollars as a mark up is pretty steep . But to then add an additional 55 dollars for service was ridiculous. Total cost for dinner 550 dollars. Food was fabulous and worth it . Wine was robbery. Thanks giving morning breakfast was terrible with a reduced buffet . Had I known this before booking I would have chosen another hotel that had a full service menu. I had a second room booked at the hotel for my daughter . This room was much better the suite. On a positive the staff were helpful .
The entire stay was awesome. From check in to check out, the service was excellent. The room was very large and the pull out sofa was set up for our two small boys upon arrival. The treasure chest at check in was a treat for the boys, as well as the complimentary cookies and milk delivered to our room. The location is perfect for shopping and restaurants and the spa with indoor pool was wonderful. Overall, a great experience and we can’t wait to come back to enjoy the spa (without the kids!!!)
We've stayed at the Rittenhouse twice now and it will be our go-to hotel in Philadelphia from now on. Their staff is absolutely spectacular, from the valets and doormen to the lovely gentlemen who set up our daughter's sofa bed. Every staff member was delightful to my four-year-old. The rooms are enormous, if a bit dated, but the hotel is starting renovations in January. I can't wait to see how it looks!! It's an unbelievable value, considering that another hotel down the street was charging $150 more a night for a smaller room. Our one issue was that the wifi was awful, which is kind of ridiculous in 2017.
Best Hotel in Philly. Door service, concierge, staff are impeccable. Rooms are lovely. Will stay again.
