An excellent stay for us and our beagle
Our stay was excellent and super easy. The staff was super kind and efficient. We stayed here because they are pet friendly and it was a great place for our little beagle. Everything seems pretty new and very clean.

Looked new ... was in a transitional area but parking was convenient and safe. They could’ve done better with COVID-appropriate breakfast (instead of a bag of nasty packaged items many hotels have a person serving hot breakfast items)

Pros and a lot of cons
Randomly found this hotel on this website. Looked good from pictures. Looks very new, but poorly designed. I stayed on a friday evening and it was packed. There was no parking in the hotel parking lot. I had to park in a very dark cul de sac offsite. Parking was definitely not planned correctly. That was the only downfall. The hotel looked brand new but I can tell it was put together cheaply and quickly. Carpet and tile were ugly. Shower had a tiny soap dish and could nothing else but the soap bar. Caulking in the shower was poorly done and messy. Overall, the hotel was clean and employees were nice. They really need to fix the parking situation.

Less than impressed
Hotel has a septic smell that is excruciating at walk in. Did not get room I booked and once it was brought to front desk attention they were slow in response. When I needed to get into pool, desk attendant tossed me the key and didn’t even walk me over to the pool. After being promised a late check out was locked out of my room while belongings in there and made to go to front desk again. With 2 toddlers and bring almost 3 hours from home it was more of a headache than vacation

We had a little problem with the room needed, but front desk guy, and Lele, housekeeping supervisor, helped out and made it happen

It is obvious this is a new hotel so it’s possible they’re still “learning”. But the cleanliness of the rooms was definitely not great. I found a baby’s sock in the closet, the tub had soap residue on the walls, multiple hairs, and unidentified brown splash stains on the outside of the tub. Because the color of the bathroom is very light/white, all of these were very obvious so it’s a wonder how it was missed by housekeeping. The rest of the room and the hotel grounds were clean. The location was a bit busy traffic wise but there were a lot of restaurants and stores nearby. The parking lot does not seem large enough to accommodate the size of the hotel and was packed by nighttime. I’d stay again if I couldn’t find a better location in the area.

The joy of this hotel was extinguished by the dismal management. Their inability to use their own credit card machine for check-in, overbilling, refunds, credits was extraordinary. The embarrassment of checking in a new employee and having 7 credit cards denied while we explained that with 3 different banks that is impossible the arrogant desk manager belittled our efforts to educate how to use a credit card machine.
While maintaining the system works for "everyone" but our cards she refused to understand that we needed to seek a resolution. Even with Chase Bank on the phone telling us that no charges were being attempted the desk manager walked away leaving us in embarrassment.
Swiping the new technology chip cards without activating the charge in your system is as simple as ABC. We cured their issues by offering to purchase a $2 bottle of water and like magic, our cards now worked in their system. We did not take the water and they said they would refund. Instead, they charged the card 3 times for $4. So we paid $14 for a bottle of water we never received.
Eventually, refunds followed. Despite a manager saying" We feel so bad, we provide a comp night" that never materialized but no surprise there.
The moral of the story, check your bill at this La Quinta when you leave as they don't know the difference between the credit and debit button on their credit card. Oh, and when you are told: "do you have another card" or "99 percent of all cards work with a swipe' .... laugh!
