La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dallas I-35 Walnut Hill Ln

We've stayed at this hotel numerous of times over the years, and were surprised to pull up to the latest updates to the building. My excitement was cut short when I got to the front desk to check in. My credit card initially declined b/c I was in a different city. The clerk was very rude about it. When it declined, she said call your bank and you can come get me afterwards. She walked from behind the desk, to sit on a couch and talk to a guy who was sitting there. My bank immediately sent me a text asking if I was at a La Quinta, so it took less than 5 minutes to resolve. I didn't bother the clerk since she had sat down, and another lady came from the office. She checked me in, and didn't have a great attitude either. She gave me 1 key, even though we were checked in for 2. I left my jacket in the room, and realized this when we got back home. I called to see if anyone had turned it in, and the first clerk I encountered was the same lady that answered. She was rude yet again, and said you'll have to call back tomorrow and talk to my manager. I called the next day, and spoke with the manager Donnie. She was like a breath of fresh air! She was so polite, and helpful! I didn't bother to tell her about her clerks, as I knew I would leave a review. The service this time alone has confirmed that I will no longer stay at this location going forward. I've always loved the location b/c it's central to almost everything in the city. More attention is required of their front desk.

The hotel room itself was fine, bed was comfortable and the room size was great. However there was a lot of illegal activity going on in and ourside the hotel.( mainly prostitution was very obvious))Guest was smoking marijuana in the room next door and the smell was coming under the door that connects the two rooms. I told the desk clerk but she realy didnt try to acknowledge it.

Very clean. Friendly staff.

There was a bed bug in out first room. I had to show the attendant at the desk and all they did was look shock and give us another room. When we were checking out the system was down and we could just go was told to me rude. Overall not a good experience and will not be checking back in this hotel.
