Holiday Inn Charleston Riverview, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is horrendous. Toilet wouldn’t flush. Needs to be updated. Has balconies but you can’t use them. They state that it has a harbor view but all I saw was a swamp.

Breakfast and staff were great Covid “restrictions” did not allow room service and cleaning which IMO is not wise

Shower head literally fell off the wall . Shower water pressure was all over the place . Either dribbling out or blasting like a fire hose . Very frustrating. Not what to expect for $300+ a night .

Front desk rude. Gave me a room someone else was in. Just handed me another key and said nothing.

Close to everything, quiet because it’s right outside the hustle and bustle of the historic district. Have stated twice and will again.

The Holiday Inn was centrally located with great city views from our room. Staff was super friendly, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was comfortable and clean. The top floor restaurant had the most wonderful sunrise views of the city and served a fabulous inclusive breakfast with full menu choices (be sure it’s included in your reservation). Our only complaints were that the walls are quite thin so we could hear everything from the room next door and quite a bit of traffic noise, and the AC unit was exceptionally loud. Overall, quite happy with our choice.

The hotel was unique & an older hotel with a restaurant on the roof. I think it would have been a commanding view in better weather. It was overcast when we stayed there. The TV didn't work until one plugged in the cord at the back. No microwave, but you could use a tiny one hidden in a cabinet in the lobby. The coffee maker did not work in our room. It was OK since we were spending only a few hours to sleep before catching an early flight.

Don’t get me wrong it was a nice hotel but the room didn’t mean standers like it should have for the price we paid for one night. definitely over priced. Didn’t have any hot water. the shower pole was broken and feel and hit me. Definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

This hotel is in a great location! Just a few minutes drive from downtown Charleston and lots of restaurants and shops. Free parking and easy to find. Rooms are small but we weren’t in our room often. No microwave in the room but there is one in the lobby you can use. We ate at the Harborview Restaurant for dinner one night and the views were beautiful, Jo (the only waitress/bartender there) was amazing, calling every customer by name! Food was good. Ice machines ran out on our floor and the floor under us and didn’t get refilled. Traffic was loud as you are in between two bridges that come in and out of downtown Charleston but I was never woken up by it. It seems less busy at night and we left the thermostat fan on high to drown out anything.

Went there because gf has wanted to. Staff was friendly the room wasn’t quite ready had to wait a little. Looks like the place is getting a little out dated. Went to restaurant and meal was ok menu rather short not a lot to pick from. Nice view of the bay just cross it off the bucket list but won’t be back.
