Each room is decorated like a lake cabin feel, very comfortable clean and easy to get around the areas close by to everything we needed. Staff was very kind accommodating. Quiet and peaceful place. Loved it and will be back again. Paid at the location so Expedia where we booked it through is still showing not complete to get our points so not sure what to do about that.

One of a kind experience, staff is warm and friendly . Hotel is out of the area for us visiting our son at school but we drive the extra time for the hotel and atmosphere. Dog friendly as well, fire pit! Would make an amazing wedding location with all the amenities!

Loved Western Front

I love boutique hotels which are hard to find these days. Western Front Hotel in St. Paul is a great one. It is decorated with the theme of the Clinch River with reclaimed wood accents and real oak floors. And the Mexican restaurant that is in it is quite good also.

What a hidden gem! The building has been completely renovated with top notch attention to detail and high end quality finishes and furnishings. Our room was very spacious with THE most comfortable bed and pillows along with wonderful bedding. The bathroom is brand new and clean. I would stay here again and again! There’s a really nice bar on the first floor and a restaurant. There is an outdoor terrace on the second floor with comfy furniture and even some comfy throws to cover up with. They have a nice backyard with an area for music, fire ring with Adirondack chairs, cornhole and more. I cannot stress how clean this property is and how they have paid attention to every detail.

Don’t pass this by!!!!

What can I say about this place that would even come close to doing it justice?? What a gorgeous hotel! All the little touches that made you feel like you were staying at a friend’s home. The service was incredible, accommodations were gorgeous yet homey and comfortable. Bathroom was nothing short of luxurious. I’m sure it’s much busier at different times of the year but mid January was very chill and quiet and I got the extra bonus of beautiful snow on the day I was heading home. Coffee bar, complimentary breakfast brought to the room each morning, attached restaurant (the shrimp tacos were life changing!) adult game room…not to mention all the reclaimed wood in the rooms from the pre-existing apartments. Wrought iron and wood fixtures. Will DEFINITELY be back!

The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The free breakfast leaves much to be desired. So much do that we didn’t even ask for it on the second morning. The staff are friendly. The biggest issue is that a third of the first floor is restaurant. That means a third the the second floor rooms are above the restaurant. The restaurant is the only one for miles, other than fast food, around so it’s a favorite of the locals. Long story short, don’t try to sleep before the restaurant closes if your in one of those rooms.

Comfy and cute

This is an amazing old building. They managed to modernize without getting rid of the charm, including original floors. The room was large, but cozy. Instead of your typical hotel room, the decor and finishes really make it feel homey. The staff was great. We let them know we would be checking in quite late, and even though they didn't have an overnight desk person scheduled, the guy at the desk stayed until we got there at 2 a.m. The attached Mexican restaurant was delicious. We were starting here to go to a race in Bristol, but I would take this over the closer hotels any time.

I wish I could find a hotel like Western Front every time I travel. This qwerky small town spot keeps pace with the big chain competition and was money well spent. From the friendly service to the Virginia scenery, 10/10
