Fire alarm

Overall it was a pleasant stay here, however, we was woken up at 8am with every fire alarm in the building blaring - whats worse is that there were no staff on the premisis to turn it off. There were several people including me and my girlfriend who didn't grab our key cards and so were locked out of the room until staff showed up an hour later.

Decent overnight stop

Perfectly fine for an overnight stop, I dont think the heating was working in my room (18) but there was plenty of hat water and everything was clean

You get what you pay for

We booked this hotel for a family trip and we had a budget. We wanted to spend our money on activities and foot rather than a hotel. I would give this hotel a 5/10. It was good but alot could be better.

4/10 Fair

Unfortunately we didn't end up staying at the accommodation. As we entered the room. We were met with an unclean smell. There was marks on the walls from the previous users. The facilities were less than basic. The windows of the room were very dirty and hairs in the bedding. The room was basically was a box with 3 beds in, not enviting at all. My daughter refused to stay here as she felt very unsafe. There was nothing to encourage us to stay. Maybe if there was furnishings it may have given off a better feel. I wouldn't recommend this stay to anyone really unless they dont mind staying in less than basic.

Saturday in Manchester on a budget

As far as value for money on a Saturday night in Manchester goes it fitted the bill. Room was comfy with TV, en suite & tea, coffee making facilities. Staff I encountered were friendly & helpful. Encountered a little noise with squeaky floors from other guest rooms. On the whole I had a pleasant stay.

Lady on the reception was lovely and helped when we was told Expedia hadn't told them about our booking. But the people this hotel has staying there are the type that make you feel unsafe, drug users that are hanging around out the front, and the smell of stale smoke was so bad. The room smelt of smoke and The bathroom had been cleaned but not very well. For £39 you get what you pay for but I definitely wouldn't pay anything more for this hotel, it was more like a hostel

2/10 Poor

Not a good stay, Do not recommend.

My stay at V Lodge was far from ideal. Upon first glance, the room appeared acceptable, considering it’s a budget stay and I wasn’t expecting luxury. However, as the night went on, I noticed red stains on the carpet, and upon closer inspection in the morning, it became clear that these were blood stains. Additionally, there were small traces of dried blood on the shower wall in the bathroom. Security was also a concern—the chain lock on the door was broken, seemingly forced open at some point, and the bathroom door showed visible damage. The walls throughout the room were stained, contributing to an overall feeling of neglect. Also there was no kettle (not an issue to me but they had coffees and tea there), the bedside light had cobwebs and dust on it and there was no hairdryer. To make matters worse, around 11 p.m., loud arguing outside disrupted the stay and made the atmosphere uncomfortable. I did not feel entirely safe during my visit. While most of the staff were accommodating. On a more positive note, the parking felt secure, and the location was decent. However, cleanliness and maintenance need serious improvement. I would not recommend staying here in its current state, but with better upkeep, the hotel has potential.

Checked out a day early

Remote for the television was not working and a light was continuously flickering + making a noise as it did when switched on. We reported it to staff as we we're going out for the day. We came back to be told they had changed the batteries in the remote control but they did not know which light the fault was with. Back in the room the second we turned the light on it immediately started flickering. On the second night there was a disruptive person in the corridor banging and shouting. Their partner had tried to get them back in the room but the behaviour contiued. In the end we quietly put the chain on and wedged the chair against the door for safety against the aggressive and unpredictable behaviour of the person. We had no way to report it to staff as no phone in the room and the number for the hotel came up as not in service on mobiles. Despite an additional night booked we checked out the next day.
