First and foremost, when booking this inn, I would recommend being very careful and picky about your room type. Here, you will definitely get what you... pay for. Approximately 6 buildings/houses spread out over about a mile make up the York Harbor Inn. We have stayed in the one of the buildings from the 1700s and one of the buildings that is newer. Yes, the ones from the 1700s are charming and the least expensive; however, that's about where the positives of these older buildings fades (at least for us). If you're a heavy sleeper and don't care about noise or the quality of the bed you're sleeping in, go for the older buildings as you'll have a more affordable stay. If, however, you're a lighter sleeper (eg: we were actually woken up by a neighbor snoring in the room next to us because the walls in the old buildings are very thin), want a higher quality mattress, and a more luxurious stay, be willing to spend more money to stay in one of the newer buildings. Their newest acquisition, the Chapman Cottage, about 1/2 mile from the main inn is lovely. The staff were all helpful and polite. We both felt that the dining room, the quality of their food, and their staff were the biggest assets of the Inn. The water views are stunning. All in all, we would love to re-visit the York Harbor Inn, but we will be sure to stay in their newer buildings instead of the older inn. Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 29. Sep. 2013
