Very clean, sizable room for the city, nice bar/restaurant/cafe, the gym leaves much to be desired. The only small issue is it's location. For a seasoned/former Manhattanite it was a bit "off the beatten path". For a new or occasional tourist it's perfectly fine...a short walk from Penn Station (Amtrak) and all the mid-town action. Our family (2 adults & 2 kids) stayed at Tryp four nights and it was a delightful time. The room was big, functional and beutiful. Both thumbs up!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. We loved that out was within walking distance of everywhere we intended to go. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is very European in style. Reminded me of a hotel I stayed in in Barcelona I really enjoyed our stay. The room was large and comfy. The location is close to penn station and Madison square garden. Live music in the lobby in the evenings and free wireless is a nice bonus. Reasonable parking in the lot across the street. The staff at TRYP was extremely friendly and helpful. I had never been in NYC before and the concierge was a huge help. Although there wasn't much of a view in my room (I was looking at a brick wall), I didn't spend much time in the room anyway so it didn't matter. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There's a subway entrance right […] on the corner, which is extremely convenient! The street isn't very busy at night, so if you're a female, you may want to walk quickly. It's not a terrible neighborhood, but it's definitely not as busy as other streets. Mehr

We enjoyed our stay at the Tryp Times Square South. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hotel was extremely clean. It was conveniently located, allowing us to walk to Times Square, Central Park, Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building. Parking lot across the street offered good rates for New York City. Perfect location, service minded & friendly staff, clean, spacious rooms + we were lucky enough to cut a great deal on a premium room (50 % off). Only "downside" was the wifi which constantly was on/off/on/off...and, how hard can it be to provide regular coffee in the rooms (we only had decaf for one week, and the explanation "we're out of regular" […] seems a bit week considering the surroundings haha). The hotel advertices "providing sports wear" for the use of fitness room, but they don't have it... Anyhow, beside these minor details we loved the place and would def go back! Mehr

This is a very cute chic hotel in midtown. We took cabs to uptown and Brooklyn, no problem. The service is excellent . HOWEVER, there is a door between rooms, which means you can hear EVERYTHING from the other room. We got home at 3am and gotten woken up at 8am by a hair dryer which sounded like it was blown right next to us. And they may have heard […] us coming home at 3am. We could hear them talking and their tv. That was disappointing enough that we won't be staying here again, even though the hotel is very cute. Mehr

My sister and 2 friends of mine stayed at the Tryp Hotel for the weekend and I must admit it was a pleasure to find a nice, clean hotel room and I love the modern look of the room! The only thing I would say is the food was expensive for the small portions. We returned it since it was over $70.00 for barely any food. The Manager was extremely sweet. […] She apologized and refunded our money. If you see the word "Tapas" do know that means "small" but other than that we were very pleased with the hotel. Stayed in family room. We got a great rate through hotels.com. Plenty of room. Wife said mattresses were to firm, but I was fine with that. Very convenient to penn station so you could easily travel by subway or train. Enjoyed our visit and would stay here again. If I wanted to be picky I would say you are on the far side to central park and the rich […] part of manhattan, but again you can easily take the subway there. Mehr

overall a 4 for a 4 star hotel. only one thing, it's very dry in the room (or maybe it's just the city). would be super great if the hotel can have humidifiers in each room (a 3-star hotel chain in japan has that).

In trying to stick within a reasonable budget and feel like I am right at home; this is the place to stay. The Decor is spectacular, the views on the 15th floor was awesome. Very nice contemporary look through the room and I am so happy Hotels.com find this hotel for me. Would definetly stay again! Even the bar and drinks we Awesome! The address is a little misleading with 'Time Square South', so if Time Square proper is your destination expect to cab it. The restaurant and bar pictures are a little misleading as well. They occupy the same space, but are cleverly depicted as two separate entities. Outside of those items the stay was excellent. Hote was brand new. Rooms were trendy. Service was great. Half a block from subway station and a block to Penn Station. The best hotel I've stayed at in NYC (and I go often).

the internet was down during my entire stay and the one computer in the lobby was monopolized by teens on facebook. so not a great business hotel. but the staff was wonderful.

This hotel met all my expectations and more. The rooms were amazing and super comfortable. This hotel is very updated and in a great location! I will for sure stay here again! Highly recommend this hotel. And the guest service was outstanding!

Great hotel

The food was overpriced and not very good. The floors were very dirty in the room. You had to walk down a dark alley to get to the hotel from the main street lots of unsavor characters along the way.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious. Convenient to subway and Time Square. We stayed in the family room with the bunkbeds. This room did not have a refridge, which I thought I had read on description. Would stay here again.

Our stay at the TRYP hotel in New York City was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and looked great, and the location of the hotel was convenient and fairly central. I highly recommend the TRYP hotel to anyone travelling to New York City.

The stay at this hotel was memorable and I can't wait to return. The staff was great especially Massy. I will definitely be returning soon and will recommend this hotel to anyone who planning a trip to the city

I got a great price on Hotels.com and stayed at the Tryp in Manhattan for two days. All members of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern. I like the eco-friendly pumps in the shower for shampoo, conditioner, and soap. They had a Keurig for the coffee in the morning, but they did forget to leave two more cups the next morning. The […] location is great. Right next to the Subway, Penn Station, Port Authority, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building, and tons of little food spots. There is a police precinct right next door but it is very quiet. I'd definitely stay again! Mehr

This hotel is very trendy and for only being open for three weeks lots of people seemed to have found this hidden treasure. The hotel staff are very hospitable and very attentive. The rooms are very cool and the beds are super comfortable. Will recommend to anyone and will definitely be staying there again.

We have 3 children and by far this was one of the best hotels we stayed in. My son was sick and we werent sure we would make another night and they gave us all the time we needed. For a brand new hotel in an old building that was totally renovated it has a few kinks to work out with check in / check out processes but overall it was a great place to stay. The hardwood floors in every room is awesome, no dirty hotel carpets. The beds are wonderful as well.

Its like Europe meets ikea meets urban NYC- The rooms and hotel are decorated with very interesting choice of textiles, but in a very pretty and modern way where you can still see touches of Europe. The tapas were really good, same with the breakfast buffet, and the specialty drinks were awesome and very inventive - all things are very affordable. only […] a few blocks from Penn station. Clean and sleek rooms, nice spacious clear shower, huge plasma tv and desk, comfy linens. We decided to sleep in on our night there and a lot of the tourists are early risers, so the noise was pretty annoying in the morning and there was only decaf coffee, but they did have a Keurig machine which was a nice touch- The noise would not stop me from recommending this place- its lovely!!! The hotel is in a great aera, close to time square, madison square garden,34th street shopping......this hotel has a nice lobby, nice clean stylist room....I will be staying here when I come back.....

The TRYP Times Square South just opened a few weeks before our arrival, but you wouldn't know it from the service we experienced. The front desk staff was very helpful and went of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They helped with directions and even personally delivered an e-mail that I needed printed (and neglected to pick up). The Hotel is […] artfully and distinctively decorated. The rooms are also relatively spacious by New York standards and very modern. The only negative aspect of the TRYP is that the walls are thin and you can definitely hear your neighbors. Mehr

A new hotel can be an interesting experience and at no time did I feel like the staff at the hotel was new. Everything worked and more importantly, everyone was on their game from the front desk, room service, bar and everything that I was able to experience. Everything was as expected the only thing I had a problem with was the floors where not clean. Dusty as if they just finish working on the room. Overall it was good

Wonderful hotel with an incredible staff. It is a beautiful place with great rooms and the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Don't let the area turn you off because it is located right next to Midtown South Police Precinct and a very safe place. The entire neighborhood is being renovated but we never heard a sound in our room. Dinner and breakfast […] in the hotel was extrordinary and once again I can't say enough about the wonderful people that work there. L'hotel è nuovo e si trova in una buona posizione, a due passi dal Madison Square Garden e da Times square. La camera era grande ed i letti molto comodi. Uniche due pecche significative sono state, la wifi in camera funziona molto male (meglio nella lobby) e il pavimento che non è mai stato lavato (i calzini antiscivolo delle bambine erano neri dopo […] 5 minuti).
