Embassy Suites St. Louis Downtown - St. Louis

Very nice place and good value. Not a lot in the way of moderate resturants nearby. Very quite are especially during the day. No game were played during our stay, but I could imaging it could get busy on game day.

This hotel offers excellent customer service. From the valet at the door to the front desk to the housekeeping staff to the bartender at the manager's reception. Tom the night manager has been very helpful on more than one occasion when I stayed at this hotel. Patricia in housekeeping went above and beyond.

Our stay at the Embassy Downtown St. Louis was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was warm and friendly and made all attempts to service our every need. Will definitely book there again.

Excellent place for a family of four. Need to reserve 2 Queen beds in advanced. The pull out sofa is comfortable for two adults. Breakfast is free and kids enjoyed variety of food available. Nice location but you need a car to get around (unless you are comfortable with bikes).

We encountered a number of missteps during an otherwise enjoyable trip. Housekeeping repeatedly failed to provide us with enough towels and removed all of the toiletries before our last night, leaving us without soap or shampoo the morning we left. Also, when we prepared for bed the first night there, we discovered that our bed had only one sheet on […] it that did not fit. It took over an hour for that to be rectified. Then there was the inside deadbolt that did not work and was not fixed despite our request during our stay. The hotel itself appears to be rather new. It is in a good location for the large arenas but not close to much of anything else and nearby dining options are few. Better for business than vacation. Mehr

We decided to stay at Embassey because we've had good luck in the past, plus having the separate sitting area works out having kids. Not their fault, but at check in, we learned the entire front street was being repaved, and unless you use valet, the parking garage is down the street. The staff was helpful in getting the car unloaded/curb-side and […] even brought luggage carts to us. Maybe or maybe not due to the road construction, but the streets were noisy at very earlier hours in the am. The breakfast/atrium area seemed smaller than other ES's we've stayed at in the past (no atrium). Because it was spring break, the hotel was crowded towards the weekend. The dining and buffet accomodations were a little unorganized for such a large crowd, realizing having two food service lines might have helped. Once you've made it through the food-line, finding available tables was the next task. All in all, we were able to get through in a reasonable time and on with our day. The rooms were contemporary, seemed clean (as any hotel would), but I was bothered that I could see several hand prints on the bathroom doors from frequent uses near the handles or "reach" areas. The sofa and chairs in the seating area are not at all comfortable. Didn't use the fold out sofa, so can't comment on that. The staff were all polite, chearful and helpful. They even offered to print out directions to any destination we had on our agenda for the day. Would we stay here again?..... maybe we'd opt for the other ES that is about 30 minutes from downtown. Even though its a bit further, we'd have to weigh-in the conveniences of parking vs. location in the city. Also to add, we learned later the hotel was built within a vacated/renovated building that was a former luxury department store (not sure if it was a Macy's or Lord/Taylor scale plaza).....interesting though. We arrived in town for a funeral service and were pleasantly surprised and pleased with the location and lay out of the hotel. Our room, a corner King size, was quite spacious with very tasteful, contemporary decor. The room and hotel was clean, except for notable dust on the lamps, bedside table and dresser, which could have simply been from an accumulation […] during the day (we arrived late at night). That is the only reason for the "4" rating. It is a lovely hotel and we are quite discerning travelers! Mehr

We liked this hotel very much. The only thing not so good was we had a hard time finding family eating places within walking distance.

Was extremely pleased with the decor and comfort of the hotel. The service mostly was excellent, and the staff made everything easy for me. I wasn't aware that there was no parking lot for this location. Overall, I would use this hotel again and recommend it to everyone.

On top of the fantastic location--the Edward Jones Dome was right outside our window--the customer service was top-notch, the room was beautiful and much bigger than expected, and the hotel was very clean. Great hotel. Downtown restaurants do require reservations. Especially for a larger party. The hotel's atrium though is an adequate dining option. A little high priced, economically produced, but available in a pinch. Sleep at the hotel, eat somewhere else.

The room was beautiful! My only issue was the air conditioning. I am a hot natured person and I couldn't control the temp in my room. It wouldn't go below 68 and I couldn't turn the heat off! Which made a long hot night. It wouldn't have been so bad if I could have opened the windows, but they were huge and VERY heavy so I couldn't get them open. Just returned from Embassy Suites, and had a very good time! The hotel was beautifully decorated. We loved the morning breakfast and evening happy hour! The only negative was dirty dishes left in the hall a couple of times..once right next to our room after we checked in. But overall it is a very nice hotel and I would definitely stay again. 4 of us stayed at the Embassy Suites while attending the Transworld Haunt Convention at the Americas Center - right across the street!! The hotel looked recently renovated - everything was beautiful and spotelss. Our room was AMAZING with the most comfortable beds ever! Wonderful hotel with beautiful decorating. Rooms were huge and wonderful. Happy hour and breakfast exceeded expectations. A very good value, nice staff, no problems at all.

The Embassy Suites downtown is, overall, a nice play to stay in a great location. Yes, it does cost to valet park your car -- I'm not sure why other reviewers are surprised at this. Notwithstanding, this place is an excellent value. The room was very well appointed, clean and spacious (with the exception of one drinking glass on a nightstand that housekeeping […] forgot). The ONLY thing I can really say to detract from the hotel was that there was some street noise that interrupted our sleep -- and we were on the third floor up. This is a beautiful renovation in an exciting area of downtown St Louis. Loved the floor to ceiling windows in my corner suite. The night manager "Tom" was exceptionally helpful. Valet parking attendant was efficient, cordial, and well informed about getting around the city. Metrolink station to STL Lambert Field is located at the southeast corner […] of hotel. Great hot breakfast and evening reception. Room service available and a quick, friendly restaurant with a good variety of fresh, healthy choices. Mehr

Great hotel for weekend with kids. Suite was excellent, so was having breakfast. Best thing though was the City Museum, just about a mile away.

this hotel was great!!! clean/ great staff/ great breakfast,happy hour. I normally stay at embassy suites because of good experiences like this stay. the only thing that could have been better was to have free wi-fi.

We enjoyed our stay in your hotel. It was convenient to where we needed to be. The young lady that was at the desk when we checked in was helpful, gave us directions with a smile. The hotel and our suite was clean and all the personnel was very courteous. We plan to return soon. Thank you for making our stay a good experience.

Awesome experience at this place.

The Embassy Suites St Louis was amazing overall. The suite was spacious and very clean. The king sized bed was quite possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The only disadvantages were that due to the location valet parking was required (well at least significantly less expensive than self parking in the stadium garage) and our room […] faced the entrance to the stadium which was loud. However, the friendliness of the staff more than made up for any inconveniences. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Mehr

The location was perfect for the purpose of our trip (football game). The Edward Jones Dome is only a block away so no parking worries. The only con was that the room faced a very busy street with horns honking during the night, sirens and loud people, we didn't sleep well.

Hotel was one of the best we have ever stayed in. Staff was extremely helpful and had a servants heart. Their suites are great for a larger family. Hotel was close to all the major downtown sites and restaurants.

We went for just one night to visit the City Museum, which I would definately recommend. The hotel is brand new and very nice. We took full advantage of the Managers Cocktail hour (5 to 7:30, free drinks) and the wonderful breakfast with omelettes cooked to order. The only complaint would be the construction that began at 8am (still not sure if it was […] on the building or down on the street below). Other than that a fabulous hotel and great amentities. Mehr

We stayed at the embassy in St. Louis and the stay was great. I will try to stay there again if I go to St. Louis. The staff was great, the breakfast was very good. Overall one of the best hotels I have stayed in in a long time.

Was a good hotel but there is A LOT of road noise. I couldn't believe hour clearly you could hear the road thru the bedroom windows on the 4th floor. If you are used to city noises this won't bother you - but if you like it quiet to sleep you won't be able to. The only complaint about the service was that housekeeping didn't come in and make up the […] beds or take the dirty glasses out that we had brought in from the managers reception the evening prior - had like 8 dirty glasses sitting on the table, I took them back myself the next night. Breakfast is wonderful. I've had better snacks during the manager's reception at other Embassy's but it was okay - if you like chips and salsa because that was pretty much it. I would stay again and recommend it to those that are not light sleepers. The room was plenty big enough for my family of five and the hot tub was relaxing. The pool is small and only 3 feet deep - which worked out okay for us, but probably not for someone wanting to swim laps. Nice fitness room as well. Mehr

Great new hotel with a resturant, bar and pool on the 5th floor. The king room is split in two with a living area and mini bar. The beds are very comfortable and good quality towels.

There is still remodeling going on in the hotel, but it was not hindering at all. The location is nice and there is cheap parking close by. Embassy Suites is really doing a good job with the remodeling. The room was very comfortable. Now if they get the right management team this hotel could be awesome!

when we got our room, there was a lady asleep in it. Front desk put us in an occupied room. the help argued in front of us as to who's fault it was. MOD was very kind and helpful, The valet's were treasurers. But a good stay.

We stayed one night and LOVED it. The staff at the bar at night, breakfast (made-to-order) staff, and at the front desk were very nice. Very convenient walk around the area to the Arch, area bars and parking garage across the street. We went to the Dome for the football game also right across the street. Our car stayed parked in the garage for the 2 […] days we were there. I am also VERY appreciative of their honesty. I left my IPod touch in our hotel room after we checked out and didn't realize it until we arrived home (4 hours away). I called the housekeeping staff the next day and someone had turned it into the lost and found. They shipped it out the next day! Mehr

One the best hotels I've stayed at, especially for the price. Clean, comfortable room which was very spacious. Nice manager's reception and good breakfast. It was also right across the street from the Edward Jones Dome, so very convenient for a Rams game. Would definitely look forward to staying there again.

I travel for work and have never visited a hotel with a friendlier staff. The hotel was very clean and nice and will be the best hotel in St Louis once the city finishes the work on the street out front. If you sleep in, make sure you are not given a room facing the front of the building. The city workers seemed to start working around 7:15.

The staff at this hotel was extremely courteous and friendly. It's located right across the street from America's Center (Convention Hall) and the Edward Jones Dome (Rams Stadium). There are a ton of great restaurants and bars right down Washington Ave, but you don't really need them if you don't want them because there is a delicious complimentary […] hotel breakfast and a complimentary managers reception at happy hour. The room I had faced 7th Street. There is sheets of steel out on the road, (some kind of road work) Every time a car drove over it you heard it loud and clear. Kept me up all night. Other than that the people were great, and the hotel was beautiful. They just gotta fix 7th street....

I had a short stay at this property (3 nights). It opened only a month ago, which was a surprise to me. Nonetheless, there were absolutely no glitches of any sort. The staff were all very friendly, and each person working there greeted me in a friendly and usually non-perfunctory way as I passed (tell-tale signs good training and good staff morale). […] Many had transferred from another Hilton property and were pleased to be working at the new property. The breakfast was first rate for business travel (good quality, without being lavish, and excellent cooked to order omelets), the managers reception was a welcome benefit at the end of the day. At breakfast the wait help were very solicitous, even to the point of discarding and restarting a piece of toast that I left too long in the toaster while getting an omelet. The room was huge, and the ceilings seemed like it was 12 feet high. The sitting room was very big and the wetbar was very convenient with refrigerator and microwave. The selection of heatable food available for modest prices in the lobby allowed for two nights of no fuss and inexpensive dining at the end of long work days. Two minor things for the management to consider: first, the shower curtain in the accessible bathroom is too high for a roll-in shower, the eight inch gap above the floor made for a very wet bathroom after use. Also the inclusion of a shower bench would be very helpful for wheelchair-bound guests. Second, the restaurant wait help need to get a bit of training on the lunch menu and bar selection--our waitress was a tad confused by the terms "draft" and "on tap" when ordering beer with lunch, and did not know what the soup du jour was. As I mentioned, these are very minor issues compared to the very successful start of a new property. My experience sells me on Embassy Suites--this is my first stay in one and hope they are all as good. Mehr

Absolutely LOVED our stay. THE most important things to me are cleanliness and comfortable beds. We hadwill a king sized bed that you could just melt into. We will definitely stay there again.
